This is a quality knife as you would expect from Leatherman. It's an attractive knife as well and looks great in person. Grip is excellent with finger support in all the right places. The thumb rest (next to the thumb stud) is a little feature that goes a long way when you are using the knife. It's obvious that Leatherman put a lot of thought into the design. This knife is well-built and sturdy yet weighs only 2.9 ounces, and I love the sharp 2.8" plain/serrated blade for versatility. Closed length is 4.0" and open length is 6.8".

The "Blade Launcher" system works extremely well, effectively making this knife a real one-hander. This springless system is successful due to a good design and high-quality, low-friction parts.

At this price, this is a perfect everyday-carry knife for me. It's neither cheap nor expensive. It will definitely get the job done for basic use, but you won't have a heart attack if it gets damaged or lost. Overall, an excellent product.

I am in the GM of a MM pizza restaurant and I am opening boxes often so among my pocket tools is a knife. This is an excellent knife for this because it is truly a one handed knife so I can take it out of my pocket and open the blade without pausing to open the blade and close it. The only issue I have is the serrated part is not as sharp as the straight edge but in spite of this I will buy this knife again when I ruin this one eventually. If you do what I do this knife is a good choice, and a good value.

I love this knife. It is small, never gets in the way and is very useful. I have never enjoyed carring a knife before, but this leatherman has made me wonder how I got a long without one.

I got this knife as a camping tool and it is very useful. The grip is good. The handle is not hollow or flimsy like most cheap plastic knives. It is not a "knock-off" knife. The blade is very sharp and not at all dull. I've used it to cut fruits, meats, and plastic. I've used it in many emergency situations and it has not let me down. For the price that Amazon offers, it's worth every penny.

The Leatherman c301 is a great folding knife. It came in a combo deal from a popular hardware Depot store on the west coast for $49.99. What came in the package was a Leatherman core/sheath, LEATHERMAN C301, and a bit driver set.

After opening the package with a utility knife, I put the Leatherman Core on my belt, and got around to messing around with the c301. It has plenty sharpness/quality for a high production knife. I just shaved some hairs off the back of my hand 5 minutes ago with relative ease after three weeks of use(I do general construction @ 40hrs a week). Also, I noticed some fine ground skin cells on the edge of the knife after shaving off hairs.

From a simple google search I found this knife to have a 420 stainless steel blade. This is descent for the price of around $20.00 buying this knife solo.

Nice thumb rest; It does its job well as I am able to keep thumb pressure without my thumb slipping foward. PS: well engineered. Good Job R&D Leatherman team. It feels solid unlike the plethora of crappy folding knives infecting the market. My c301 is laying next to a comparable knife that is broken because 2 screws broke loose and are now lost. (that is what promped me to write this review.

Its ironic that this combo kit came without the proper torx bit to unscrew the c301. The bit set came with a T15/T10 reversible bit. But the c301 uses t9(?) heads. Anyhow that has nothing to do with buying this knife solo. Plus I doubt one would ever need to unscrew this knife, or tighten it as the construction of it is solid.

For the amazon price of under $20.00 you wont be disappointed. This is a great BASIC folding knife. But while you are shopping, understand that Leatherman puts out other folding knives with a few more options that may interest you. These knifes are the go-between of a knife, and a multi-tool. As long as you carefully research for the tool that's right for you; There won't be any disappointment because Leatherman = Quality on all of their tools that I have owned. This is another great Leatherman product. The pocket clip was what I wanted and the blade launcher is outstanding even with gloves on. This is Highly recommended for any tactical operator.

Got this for my boyfriend who loves it. He always finds something to use it for. Very sharp and well put together.

This knife is great for the average user, when you take it out of the packaging you can tell its a quality knife as you'd expect from leatherman and not just a piece of junk. The bladelauncher opening system works extremely well and is very convenient. It comes with a linerlock, so it wont close while your cutting something. The serrated portion of the blade is very useful, and the blade comes pretty sharp.

All in all, a quality knife for a decent price.

I collect knives and this is a good one for everyday use. It works very good and it takes and holds an edge well. The seration comes in handy for tough cutting.
