This review is from: Leatherman 830306 E300 Folding Knife With Straight Edge and Blade Launcher Opening (Tools & Home Improvement)
I bought the c300 about a year ago and wrote a five star review for it. I bought this e300 because I liked the c300 so much and thought the carabiner clip/bottle opener might be nice. It is nice, and doesn't add any bulk really. (I still don't want screwdivers and other tools.)The thing that gets me though, is this knife opens so much easier -- with the blade launcher alone -- no wrist action needed, just a flick of the finger. Maybe this is how they are all supposed to be, and my c300 doesn't work as well as it should? It still is very nice and handy knife. I can see a few differences in the blade launcher, not many. Is this model newer or older? Is the mechanism different, or can my experience be attributed to sample variatios? I don't know. At this writing the e300 costs about $5 more than the c300. It works better and has that added caribiner. You have to decide if it is worth it to you, but it the two were side by side and I had to choose, I'd choose this one and pay the extra. |
