I have owned and used both in the past. My big problem is that each is a wonderful spontaneous gift for a friend. (I've also bestowed plenty of unopened boxes over the years as well)
The Micra, as with all Leatherman tools, is of highest quality and workmanship. (In fact I have a complimentary pair in the Micra and the Mini, both of which I carry around in my pocket together). The Micra seems to be the most practical of all Leatherman's tools for the urban set (as opposed to the farmers and woodsmen who should have pliers instead).
The Mag-Lite has a reasonably powerful beam and is ever so pocketable. I have owned both single AAA forms and double AA forms. There is no substitute for voltage and electrolyte capacity in making a light useful. But then for me the pocket is the limiting factor and for that reason the single AAA is preferred. Just keep the batteries fresh (or use rechargables). And don't forget that there is a spare bulb in the butt of every Mag-Lite.
Since both Micra and AAA Mag-Lite are so small, and my pocket crowded with assorted goodies I'd rather not leave home without, I found it delightful that these two small items came with a lanyard. Now it is easy to "snag" them with my fingers and retrieve them promptly.
