For the last 15 years or so, there have been a relatively small number of us who have tried to write and speak about the leathersex experience in ways that would be useful to practitioners and others who are curious. I know that when we go "on the road" to teach in various cities, we almost always seem to generate more questions than we actually answer or even address in our presentations. These presentations almost always conclude with some question time for our audiences, but that rarely amounts to more than 30 minutes- if we are lucky enough to have even that much time. It is also true that many people are reluctant to ask us their questions "in public" for obvious reasons....

This will be enjoyable reading for both leathersex beginners and veterans partly because the writing is so personal, and partly because Joseph repsects the questions so much....

Whether you agree with his answers to the deeply personal questions he responds to here or not, you will come away with new information and/or a new perspective....

This book is made up almost entirely of the questions I have answered by mail in the past 10 to 12 years. Unfortunately for me, although I filed the questions, I never kept copies of the answers...In several cases, as many as 10 similar questions have been stitched together to form a single query for this manuscript.....

Obviously, this book owes the very possibility of its existence to the men who asked the questions. I have become a better and more thoroughly informed person through the thinking, research, and conversations that have led to the answers. I owe the writers of the questions an inestimable debt which my letters and this book barely begin to repay.

In eleven chapters and eleven categories Bean answers a total of 157 questions he's received as a leather writer over several years. His writing is easy to read and from both his heart, his research, and his experiences. While sometimes very specific to the gay leatherworld, there are several questions and answers that should be helpful to anyone. A definite must have for newbie leathermen.
