Book Description

Leather and lace don’t strike sparks. Or do they?

It’s Valentine’s Day, but Macy Rodgers isn’t feeling the love. Aside from a torrid, one-night fling in a backseat a few months back, her love life has been sorely lacking, but fortunately she has devious friends who feel like playing Cupid. Wouldn’t they be shocked to learn that the match they’ve made for her is the same one that steamed up the back of that ’69 GTO…

Seth “Ghost” Warren has just returned to town after an extended absence. Between his grandmother’s failing health, his job as a tattoo artist, his band’s gigs, and a crazy ex who won’t leave him alone, he’s stretched thin. Cautious cowgirl Macy is the last thing he needs thrown into the mix.

She’s all country, he’s all heavy metal—and Macy knows that if anyone can propel her out of her rut, it’s Seth. But when their worlds collide, it’s anyone’s guess if they’ll survive with their hearts intact.

Warning: Contains explicit sex, graphic language, road trips, troublemaking exes, emotional baggage, and an unconventional but exceptionally hot hero tatted and pierced for your pleasure…

“You know what really makes my day? Falling in love with a book that I didn’t originally think was my type. I really ended up loving this. It was brash and raw and completely addictive.”
—Fiction Vixen on Leave Me Breathless

“I’ll warn you that the sex scenes in this book are ‘blow the windows out of the house’ hot. Leave Me Breathless is an emotional journey of self-discovery for two very different people who simply wind up together on the same path. It’s beautiful, it’s crazy, it’s wonderful…it’s life.”
    —Guilty Pleasures Book Reviews

Rock Me by Cherrie Lynn is one hot read… A great story that touches on the prejudices of family and the constraints they place upon their members… I loved this story and would recommend it as a priority read.”

3.5 stars. This really was like reading two books for me. The first half was hot and heavy with sex scene after sex scene after sex scene, and not a lot of character development or story. But then the second half was amazing character development, with a brilliant intriguing storyline, intense passion but where did the sex go? I have to say my favourite type of romance book is when this balance is struck equally. This book would have nailed it perfectly if only the sex had been more spread out, in that if some of the plot was introduced earlier so you found out more about them in between all the sex, rather than having all the sex then finding out.

I really liked both Macy and Seth as characters. They had a fascinating past, which resulted in them having baggage and issues in relationships. Macy is different from Seth. She is a country girl who loves horses and ultimately wants to settle down. Seth has a wild past, he looks rough, he plays in a heavy metal band and doesn't want to give any women the power to hurt him again. But Seth and Macy click, this comes across really well, their heat jumps of the pages (screen) and it does not feel forced. I really liked the way they hooked up, and the way they just stopped fighting it. I loved that Seth was pushing Macy's boundaries, with his wildness and past, but at the same time he actually knew when to stop pushing, as he had reached her limit. But this also leads to one of my biggest disappointments. Once Macy finally gets over her boundaries and tells Seth to do anything he wants, Seth flips out. What? I flipped out. What happened here, this could have been an absolutely brilliant scene, but Cherrie didn't write it. Damn. Disappointing.

For fans of Rock Me, there is also a lot of Brian and Candace here.

4.0 out of 5 stars HOTTER AND SEXIER THAN THE LAST BOOK November 7, 2012
    By Reader
    Format:Kindle Edition
After hooking up with Seth (Ghost) for one night. Macy hasn't seen him for months. It's valentines day and her two best friends have persuaded her to go out with them. They have a surprise for her. That's when Seth turns up. Seth had been out of town looking after his Nana who is ill. Straight away Macy and Seth reconnect, sparks fly between them.

Seth works for Brian in his tattoo parlour. Brian and Candace (Macy's friend) were the subject of the last book "Rock Me". That was a good read, but this story far outshines that.

Macy is the total opposite of Seth, she is a country girl at heart, she loves horses, and her parents ranch where she grew up, and would never dream of getting a tattoo, or listen to heavy metal. While Seth is covered in tattoos and plays in a heavy metal band.

But these two seem to click, Seth makes Macy feel something that no other guy ever has. But she is still concerned that they are too different. As she cannot visualise Seth wanting all the things that she wants eventually. Like a home and children. But Seth has hidden depths, in other words don't judge a book by its cover.

I loved this story, it was hot, sexy and really passionate. This time round the author had really developed her characters far better, they had real depth. The emotion between them jumps off the page. With a very good plot, and great supporting characters, this is a not to be missed read. As another reviewer commented an epilogue would have been nice.

    Leave Me Breathless
    by Cherrie Lynn
    4 stars

Leave Me Breathless Book 3 in Cherrie Lynn's Ross Siblings series tells the story of Macy Rodgers and Seth "Ghost" Warren.

For those of you who read book 2, Rock Me, Macy is best friends with Candace and Seth is best friends with and a tattoo artist at Brian Ross' tattoo parlor.

Ms Lynn did a wonderful job separating this story from book 2; though on the surface it appears to a similar story, rich girl attracted to a bad boy; the author clearly tells a different story in this book.

Seth and Brian have been friends since high school; Seth describes Brian as the brother he should have had. Ms. Lynn's development of Seth's backstory is wonderful and compelling. You learn why he would prefer Brian to his own brother.
You feel for Seth and feel the depth of his emotion; particularly towards his Nana. Seth sees Macy to the depth of her soul, scary for her and powerful for the reader. Despite the rough exterior is compassionate and gentleman who still opens doors.

Macy is a true country girl, a girl with a wound in her past that is a physical wound but more importantly an emotional one.
Ms Lynn also uses Macy's parents very effectively in this book; the bond Macy has with her parents, seeing her through their eyes adds another layer to this book.

This relationship does not operate in a vacuum, Ms Lynn uses the relationships with other characters to move the story along. And again for those of you who love Brian and Candace, they are seen in this book a number of times.

Ms Lynn does not disappoint delivering smokin hot sex scene, but she also managed to weave emotion into the sex.

3.0 out of 5 stars Not bad; an interesting voice in romance fiction June 30, 2013
    By TMC1922
    Format:Kindle Edition|Verified Purchase
I came to Cherrie Lynn after Kresley Cole refused to publish faster to meet my personal needs for mindless distraction. It is one of those authors I took a chance on. See my other reviews for a feeling of the crapshoot that usually is.

I was pleasantly surprised. First, I'm likely not Lynn's target demographic. I am not much into death metal or tattoo parlors. So, it speaks to her storytelling that I somewhat connect with the characters despite this.

To be fair, this isn't the best in romance writing. Again, I'm a Sarah McCarty/Kresley Cole/Lori Foster/old Lori Leigh type of girl. However, I do appreciate deviations from the romance conventions. This rock and roll everyman approach is refreshing. I also like the way Lynn treats the love scenes. There aren't any flowery accoutrements or allusions to dying love. It's enjoyable, consensual acts between two adults who are very physically attracted to each other. The men are definite takes on the traditional alpha norms but they are domineering without being abusive or too far beyond the realm of imagination. A side note: the characters are very young. It's an interesting choice as I generally like stories about more mature characters who know what they want and what they are getting into. Here, we're talking early 20s. At least one of them is in college. My inner educator was satisfied that the youth of today weren't just spending all day sexing it up in wayward tattoo parlors.

It's a nice world she takes you to with people you wouldn't think of as romantic or in love building relationships in a contemporary setting.

She has a good handle of voice and narrative structure. The female characters could use more "oomph" for me and the men could be a little bit more complex. But all-in-all I did not want my money back and I'd buy another from Lynn.
