First well written lesbian novel I read that wasn't tragic
I loved this book. It is a well written lesbian novel that is not a coming out story, is not a mystery, is not a tragedy, is not brain candy, and is a compelling read. Such books are hard to find. This is 2004, i realize the book was written 18 yr ago.I'm 46. I found the book astounding; yet quite angry,apologetic and explanatory. What was your intentsion at THAT time? Times HAVE changed since then; unfortunately, in my opinion, not near enough.Was the book meant ONLY for the lesbian community at that time?Was there any intention, at that time,to reach...

I loved this book. It is a well written lesbian novel that is not a coming out story, is not a mystery, is not a tragedy, is not brain candy, and is a compelling read. Such books are hard to find. I loved the way it dealt with various lesbian relationships from lover to partner to friend. Be warned though, some of my friends had a hard time getting into it. In the first section you only hear one voice - the narrater's voice. It is like listening to one side of a telephone conversation. I obviously liked it, but others have not. That said, I must restate that I loved this book. I highly recommend it. It's a great read.

We live, love, and die like everyone else, BUT with a social, religous, etc... stigma.I've stood tall; with kisses, or slaps,on my face, since I was 20. I will search out more of JS readings, and wish Gentle Breezes to her and all her family,friends and this board.THX Tammy |
