4.0 out of 5 stars Excellent
I'm suprised by the another reviewer's dismissal of this book. Susan Ward's "Lebanese Cooking" is one of the better Lebanese cookbooks. I've read close to thirty books on Lebanese cooking, and this is one of my favourites. Its appearance does make you think it might be one of those bland, picture-book type of cookbooks, but it's not. This book left a lot to be desired. There were a lot of what I would call obscure dishes, and there weren't any of the basics that I am more familiar with.

There are many authentic recipes and a few French-Lebanese ones. My advice: give it a go.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good but expensive!!, May 9, 2010
This review is from: Lebanese Cooking : An Introduction to This Special Middle Eastern Cuisine (Hardcover)
I have been to Lebanon and love their food. I borrowed this book from my library and it all looks relatively simple and authentic. There are beautiful pictures that bring back memories of lavish eating in Beirut. However, I am appalled that this book is $150+ new on Amazon!! It's only got 128 pages. That's crazy! The used ones are $48+ too ..... what a shame!! I wonder if this is wrong??
