From School Library Journal
Grade 5-8-A well-organized, enthusiastic overview of the geography, history, and culture of Lebanon. The text covers customs, education, and family, and makes distinctions between rural, mountain, and urban life. Marston also covers the impact of Lebanese immigration on the United States. Her love of the country is evident, and her writing is lucid and interesting, although formal at times. The book is illustrated with well-placed and accurately captioned photographs. Two appendixes, one listing the embassies and consulates of Lebanon in North America and one that discusses the Arabic alphabet and language, are interesting and useful. A "Fast Facts" section in the front summarizes basic information. A current and attractive addition to any geography collection.
