Illya Kuryaki have outdome themselves on this album, working with Bootsy Collins of Parliament Funkadelic on track 13. The beats and the music are extraordinary. People who want to cheer up will not be dissapointed cause you'll dance and dance and dance.

Now, I must admit that this CD surprised me for good. When I bought it, my first thought was that I was wasting my money for some no-good thing. But heck no!: these guys know how to make you enjoy each and every day like it is your last one on earth. This CD is loaded with a -extremely enviable- good rythm section - what you will hear can be justly described as a heart-deep seasoned soul/funk with some nice hip-hop rap by its side-. Believe me, this is a CD worth buying. OK, I must address to those that can be easily offended that some lyrics here can get to be felt as kind of yucky (if you think the CD cover says it all wait 'til you see the booklet), but if you can happily deal with that I assure you that there will be no other problem besides your resisting to take it out of your CD player. So, check it out, and enjoy.

¡Buenisimo! You HAVE TO purchase or at least audit Leche by Illya Kuryaki Y Los Valderramas ! I know, a weird name, I dont know where it came from either. But if you like 70's style Funk, 80's Rap or even that RFTW/Prince type freaky music you will enjoy immensely this CD. Partially recorded and produced in Ohio at Bootzilla Studios by BOOTSY COLLINS (who of course, appears on several cuts and leaves his "bootprint" throughout) this Argentinian duo builds upon a 30+ year "funkdation" taking us into the "dos mil." Obvious influences are Earth Wind & Fire, Parliament, Vico C and any # of the upbeat rappers of the nascent `80's.

...but some of the "rappy" tunes lose my interest. "Latin Geisha," "Apocalipsis Wow!," "Lo Que Nos Mata," and "Robot" exemplify the funk mastery, while "Hecho Mierda" and "DJ Droga" I can certainly do without. "Wacho" is also a disappointment, being too much of a heavy rocker to match well with the other songs on the disc. "Coolo," while rap-laden, is thoroughly enjoyable thanks to its infectious underlying groove.
If you understand Spanish, be aware that some of the lyrics are quite objectionable (as are some of the images on the disc jacket).

The evolution of this band from their teenager album "Fabrico Cuero" to this masterpiece is simply brilliant. Rap, hip hop, funk and Spinetta's music (Dante's father) seem to fuse in a highly original (and I should say somehow erotic)set of songs. In my opinion, the best band from South America right now.

-after their experimental record 'versus' (wich happens to be damn good, and one of my all time fav.) the kuryakis are back with their wild style funk mixed with rap and hendrix-esque guitars, this is one hell of a CD, and like Chaco, and Ninja Mental (mtv unplugged), it's full of surprises, they never stop to impress me, with their ability to play any kind of music they want and do it good, god bless dante + emmanuel, for they are the most unique of rock en español's movement.
