Amazon.com Review
An evolutionary jump in the history of blenders, the Lectrix IntelliBlend is the first electric blender to feature a built-in recipe database, which contains more than 400 preprogrammed recipes. Once the blender is turned on, the LCD screen brings up a short start menu: Cocktails, Food, and Smoothies. From that opening menu, it's a simple task to find a wide variety of recipes, from the Fruit Bang (which combines pineapple juice, berries, vanilla ice cream, spiced rum, and banana schnapps) to Zucchini Cream Soup to Papaya Nectarine Smoothie. Each recipe has an ingredient list that details the proper amounts and gives instructions for using the blender (along with other kitchen appliances as needed) to make the recipe. The large number of recipes is easy to navigate, and there are only four buttons: Back, Enter, Up, and Down.
But this blender isn't just recipes and a screen. It also has a 48-ounce glass jug with an angled jar base that brings food or ice closer to the blades, nonskid feet, a 450-watt motor, a 2-ounce measuring cup in the lid, and six speeds: mix, chop, blend, purée, ice crush, and pulse. It stands 15 inches tall, and the base is 8 inches wide. The blender's sturdy white and silver plastic body wipes clean easily, and is handsome enough to leave out on the counter. --A.J. Rathbun
