5.0 out of 5 stars Lectures on Modules and rings (GTM 189), May 10, 2010
This review is from: Lectures on Modules and Rings (Graduate Texts in Mathematics 189) (Hardcover)
This is an excellent book written by a top mathematician with an exceptional
pedagogical style. The Chapter are presented with their historical background,
prerequisites are explicit, proofs are the best existing ones presented in
a very clear way. Another important feature for this subject is the fact that
there are many examples explaining the hypotheses but also creating feelings and intuition
in this area. There are a lot of exercises. The solutions of these exercises have appeared
in a book "exercises in Modules and Rings" (Problem books in Mathematics, Springer)
Anyone with interests in Noncommutative algebra will be happy to have this book on his shelves.

Very well written and comprehensive treatise of the subject with a lot of illustrative examples.
Of value not only to those working in algebraic domains but also to students and researchers in analysis
