I had been looking for a desk lamp for a while, and could not find anything I really liked! I finally went on the Amazon site - and there it was!! The lamp is nice looking, the lighting is perfect for my use. I especially like the fact that the shade is "moveable"!! "Thanks" AMAZON - as usual, I am very pleased with my selection - and delivery very timely!

This is a very nice lamp for the price. Although many pictures don't show it, this lamp uses a pull cord. The lamp shade can be adjusted up and down to direct light where it is most needed. The packaging from the manufacturer seems a bit flimsy, so the first lamp arrived with a shattered lamp shade. We had to return it, but the subsequent one was intact. It serves our purposes well.

this lamp is made in china, looks cheap, and doesn't feel or appear to be high quality. for around fifty dollars i'd expect to get a much nicer desk lamp. not recommended. i was disappointed because i had high hopes based on other reviews.

When I was in the market for a desk lamp, I needed one that would stand up to the punishment that I would give. This model fullfilled the requirement. I use the lamp every day and many times I leave the lamp on most of the day. The lamp I had before didn't last but one year and wan't the best value. I am hard on desk lamps and this model isn't a "Hi Intensity" model, You don't really need one that powerful just for everyday use. If you have visual problems then one of these type of lights would work better for you.

I originally reviewed this as 5 stars because it arrived the next day, however once we took it out the top part of the lamp wont stay up.

I love it, great design and price, recommend it. The shipping, absolutely outstanding, had it within three days!

Lamp uses regular bulbs and gives off great direct and indirect lghting. This item arrived sooner than anticipated in excellent condition. I highly recommend this item.

I received this lamp about a month ago, and it is working out just great. Although it can take up to a 60 watt standard base bulb, it came with a 40 watt florescent bulb that uses about 6 watts, and it is the cool light bulb, as opposed to the warm light, and I like this, in addition to being surprised to get a bulb included. Back to the lamp, it is made very sturdy. The lamp base has a nice brass finish, and is nice and heavy relative to the rest of the lamp, so it won't slide out of place on your table or desk, or wherever you place it, and has a nice felt backing. The lamp comes with a nice brass pull chain as well, for turning it on and off. The lamp is made exceptionally well, as is the green glass shade. So far I am very pleased with my lamp, and the price of $35 was a fantastic buy!

I ordered one lamp from Discount Office Items -- it arrived with a broken shade. Their customer service was helpful in that they immediately sent out another lamp -- which also arrived with a broken shade. So two lamps were sent, neither arriving intact. At this point I decided to not bother with Discount Office Items. Payment for the lamp was credited quickly...I just would have liked to have gotten one good lamp!

My new lamp is an excellent purchase and the shipment was taken care at a speed I have never seen before. I ordered my lamp Monday morning and on WEDNESDAY evening it was sitting on my desk in my study. The only minor issue I have is that the light emitted from the tube-bulb is rather dim. Of course this is the nature of this type of light so if you are working on watch parts this is NOT the lamp for you. But to read or do paperwork it is an excellent purchase.
