How does this work?
Clicking the “Test drive now” button launches a copy of this app on Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2), a web service that provides on-demand compute capacity in the cloud for developers. When you interact with the simulated phone using your mouse and keyboard, we send those inputs over the Internet to the app running on Amazon EC2 — just like your mobile device would send a finger tap to the app. Our servers then send the video and audio output from the app back to your computer. All this happens in real time, allowing you to explore the features of the app as if it were running on your mobile device.

1.0 out of 5 stars Website is better.... January 8, 2012

Poorly written app, works only in portrait mode leaving a 2" black border at the bottom.
In the "News" section, top news photo and title is frozen on top half of screen making it very hard to scroll thru the others.

Then, when I did exit the app, my Fire froze, had to reboot and un-install app.

2.0 out of 5 stars Who Designed This Mess? August 21, 2013
Verified Purchase
Lots to dislike about this St Louis Post-Dispatch app of their website content. First, of the less than 5.5 inches of viewable screen on the homepage, there is far too much clutter. The nagging ads at the bottom are partly to blame along with the "News, Weather, Search" menu at the bottom. How about consolidating this at the top with the 'section' menu bar? This poor design consumes an inch of viewable space. The result is that you can only see 3 headlines at a time with the lead sentence visible on only two most of the time. Way too much scrolling to see items! Second, rather than being able to swipe from left to right in order see the next story, you have to return to the home page. Back and forth, back and forth. Third, every once and awhile, when selecting a story/article to read, I get a pop-up screen that wants to be closed. Apparently it's just to close the pop-up! Huh?

Finally, the full, non-mobile website looks and works much better that accessing through this app. And, the use of red in their color scheme is not as jarring!

The ads load but the actual news content never does. I have installed and uninstalled a couple of times with no change. All I get is the spinning circle that says waiting.

2.0 out of 5 stars Very Little Content August 16, 2013

Even less content than the print and web editions. Not worth the trouble to open. Other St. Louis News sites do it better, including KMOV.

3.0 out of 5 stars It's okay December 29, 2012

The app does the basics of being able to review the headline news quickly. I am a little disappointed that it does not update the headlines as frequently as I would have expected.

5.0 out of 5 stars Does what it says February 1, 2012

Easy way to get the St. Louis news on the go. I like that you don't include the comments section..that takes too long to load on the website and nobody reads them anyway.

The headline news story stays at the top of the screen and does not move while scrolling. I have lived in St.Louis for life and relocated to rural Missouri for work. Read more

1.0 out of 5 stars POST GIVES JOURNALISM A BAD NAME
IT IS MY OPINION THAT THE POST DISPATCH IS AN INSULT TO JOURNALISM. THE EDITORIAL PAGE BARES NO RESEMBLENCE TO IT'S STATED GOAL. IT GIVES NEW MEANING TO THE WORD 'BIAS'. Read more
