Lee Greenwood will always be best known for the mega-hit "God Bless the USA," probably the most important patriotic song of the second half of the twentieth century. However, his talents go far beyond that one tune, and this disc displays them handsomely.

Greenwood is at his best with powerful, heartbreaking lyrics, and three of them are featured here: Fools Gold, Lying, and Ring on Her Finger, Time on Her Hands. He's not bad with upbeat songs, either, and the bouncy "Dixie Road" is a good change of pace.

For those who like strong vocals with a good country kick, Lee Greenwood's Greatest Hits will fill the bill. Highly recommended.

This is a very good cd. This cd is highly worth picking up due to the excellent arrangement of hits. Other compilation cd's by this artist include these songs, but are not original recordings (They are digitally remastered or remixed. This first volume of Lee Greenwood's greatest hits includes the original and best version of God Bless the U.S.A. still one of the most widely played and requested American anthems today. I highly recommend picking up this cd. It is a real treasure and if you are a fan of country music as I am, this is a must have for your collection.
