This review is from: Leecraft JT-164 Jet/Powermatic 64A Zero-Clearance Table Saw Insert (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is probably the best construction and probably the most reliable insert I have seen/used which is why I gave it 5 stars.

However, if you own a Jet cabinet saw, JTAS-10, it may not fit.

It did not fit mine...it was smaller than the original opening in the table.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product that reduces airborn dust, November 26, 2011

This review is from: Leecraft JT-164 Jet/Powermatic 64A Zero-Clearance Table Saw Insert (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a great product that worked exactly as described. Was very easy to install and cut the slot by slowly raising the blade. I find that much less sawdust flies in my face because the slot is the exact width of the blade. Most of the dust goes into the base where the vacuum hose pulls it away.

Nicely and precisely made. Affordable enough to buy several, for various configurations. It worked out of the box for my Powermatic 64A left-tilt, a table saw that tends to baffle some manufacturers. Not this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Leecraft JT-164 Zero Clearance Insert, May 24, 2011

This review is from: Leecraft JT-164 Jet/Powermatic 64A Zero-Clearance Table Saw Insert (Tools & Home Improvement)
Bought two of these inserts, one for a regular width blade and one for a thin kerf blade. Both were well made and fit perfectly. They accepted a kerf precisely and accepted microjig splitters without a problem. Very satisfied with this product. Highly recommend it.

I have now bought 2 of these inserts. The first one is used for straight cuts and the one I just bought will be used with my stacked dado set. I was very impressed with the quality and precision, it fits perfectly and allows me to fine tune the height with adjustment screws. I saw a significant reduction in tear-out as the material is supported all the way through the cut and it makes using the saw so much easier.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Product, Slightly Imperfect, August 16, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Leecraft JT-164 Jet/Powermatic 64A Zero-Clearance Table Saw Insert (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a really nice product. The design of this insert is perfect. I'm tuning up an old Jet contractor's saw and wasn't sure if this insert would even fit.

It's a great design. The grooves in the underside of the insert allow the blade to spin freely under the insert before cutting. I had to crank the blade WAY down to clear the insert, but then it was able to spin freely. I don't think I would have been able to shop-build something with that tight a clearance.

The adjustments were good. Four set screws on the top for adjusting the height and level, one philips screw each on the side and back to get a good, snug fit.

The only problem I had was the insert was just a LITTLE too big. It may just be that I have and older saw with a slightly smaller slot. After a couple minutes with a trusty rasp, it was down to size and fit perfectly. It was easy to fix for someone with the proper tools.

I'll buy another in a heartbeat.

5.0 out of 5 stars This one is a keeper, November 2, 2006
This review is from: Leecraft JT-164 Jet/Powermatic 64A Zero-Clearance Table Saw Insert (Tools & Home Improvement)
The directions from Leecraft are crystal clear and straight forward. The insert was easy to adjust and the fit was perfect. It's a simple and quick procedure to raise the spinning saw blade on the table saw and cut a perfect kerf into the new saw insert. Once accomplished, you can begin to use the new insert. No more problems losing small pieces between the blade and factory inserts. Once you use the Leecraft Zero Clearance Saw Insert you will never go back to the factory insert that came with your saw. I bought two and plan to order two more.

This review is from: Leecraft JT-164 Jet/Powermatic 64A Zero-Clearance Table Saw Insert (Tools & Home Improvement)
I agree with the other review that this is a quality product. As stated, it does not fit the saw opening perfectly (I have the Powermatic 64) leaving an irritating gap. The Leecraft insert for my old Sears saw fit like a glove.

If you have a saw you NEED a zero clearance insert, believe me. Actually two. One for 90 degrees and one set up for 45. This is especially true if you work on small pieces, but they improve the cut, and safety, on any size stock. I tried some cheaper plastic ones; don't bother. Neither was flat enought to use. I sent them back.

Addendum:
Well, I wrote the above glowing review while in the process of ordering a spare. When It arrived the finger hole was drilled in the wrong end. Thought it might work as a 45 degree backup so I fitted and sawed. Aghhh...saw kerf through the middle of the hole. American made. Get some asian quality control workers guys!!!!
