The "zero clearance" concept is simple: The blade cuts its own perfectly sized slot by being raised through a machinable "blank" insert. Leecraft inserts are 1/2-inch-thick, high-density phenolic laminate, with bonded-melamine surface. They offer superior rigidity, flatness, durability, and low friction. User-friendly features include top-accessible leveling screws, lateral adjustment screws for a vibration-free fit, rear anti-lift pin (except JT-1), and a precut-blade bottom pocket that provides clearance for fully retracted blades and bevel cuts. Instructions included. Use carbide-tipped blades only. Fits Jet Xacta Saw Left Tilt.

LEECRAFT Phenolic Inserts and Sheet Stock reduce splintering and chip-out on the bottom side of regular or dado table saw cuts. Simply raise your saw blade through the insert to create a "kerf" which precisely matches the blade on your saw. These 1/2" thick inserts are precision machined from a nearly frictionless melamine faced, high density phenolic laminate.Offer durability and flatness unobtainable from cheaper plastic inserts.Features like top mounted set screws for precise leveling, front/side adjustment screws for perfect side to side and front to rear fit, and a rear safety pin that keeps the rear of the insert in place, make this the best insert we have ever seen.Sheet stock material (1/2" x 11" x 15") is perfect for creating your own custom jigs and fixtures. Jet Left Tilt Zero Clearance Insert (#142271) does not fit Jet Xacta Saw Deluxe. Complete with instructions. Insert surface colors may vary.

This insert is much better than the insert that comes with the Jet. The fit is excellent and is very easy to adjust. I have found that after some time has passed, the adjustment screws work loose and require more adjustment time than I would like. I'm going to try lock tight on the adjustment screws to see if that will hold them in adjustment. I thought the price was a little high, but it's the best insert I've seem so far.

Buying this Leecraft insert has eliminated small pieces of wood going down under the saw between the blade. I feel much safer cutting with this zero clearance plate. My cuts are more accurate now as well.

The only improvement I would make in this product is to increase the length of the depth adjustment screws. In order to bring these inserts to level with the Shop Fox cabinet saw I almost had to "bottom out" the screws. Increasing the length by 1/8" would have made the job easier.

Otherwise these inserts fit perfectly.
