I bought this album because I saw that ler and brain from primus were on it. That was good enough for me. I expected something in the vain of primus. That isn't what I got. This album is best described as techno fused with hip-hop turntable stuff. It's pretty cool. I'm pretty sure brain plays an electronic drumset throughout most of the album. I have no idea what larry plays on this. If you're a fan of DJ disk, buy this. It's got an interesting feel to it. If you're open minded and appreciate electronic music, then this is for you. If you're looking for a primus side project, go buy the sausage album.

This is not a Primus sounding disc at all. Which could disapoint some and intrest others. The disc is very electronic flavored. This falls into the realm of experimental techno. It starts off fairly slow and builds tension. The samples are from everything and everywhere(think tv shows you forgot about as a kid). It doesn't sound like any one genre and it comes with a sticker that fades in sunlight. This is not safe music by any streach of the imagination and if you give it a spin it will streach your imagination.

Probably not what you're expecting., October 14, 2010

Let's be clear. You're probably looking at this item already knowing at least part of the group responsible. You're probably familiar with the work of Primus and see this as an offshoot. More than likely you have a preconceived notion in your head of what Primus would sound like without Les Claypool. Ok, now forget all about that.
This album sounds NOTHING LIKE PRIMUS. This isn't a bad thing, though I wouldn't say that's a good thing either. Just how it is. If you're looking for something that's like Primus, but isn't Primus, look elsewhere. I'd recommend the work of Mike Patton, particularly Mr. Bungle. You'll enjoy that.
If you're still interested, I'll put it to you this way. I haven't heard music like this anywhere else. The closest I think I can compare it to that Primus fans would get is Buckethead's work with ExtraKD.
Overall, it's weird, it's different, and it's enjoyable. That's really what matters. I'd recommend it to anybody with an open mind who is interested in hearing something off the beaten path from a few good friends.
