4.0 out of 5 stars The only food you need: creativity and personal integrity, March 10, 2009

This review is from: Leese Webster (Paperback)
Master science fiction writer, Ursula Le Guin, comes away with an excellent tale for children. The book is a paean to artistic creativity and individuality. Although other spiders doubt her, and although her inefficient webs leave her hungry, Leese carries on. In the end, her sustenance comes not from flies or from social approval, but from the creative spirit.

The art is below average, which subtracts from the story. And the story is just a bit advanced (wordy and subtle) for many young children. Thus, as a children's tale, the book is merely adequate. Still, I can't help but endorse this book from the master story teller.
