This is the first book of the series Left Behind. It begins with the Rapture and people disappear in a moment causing choas as plane without pilot crash, trains without engineers go off their tracks...Families are torn apart as some disappear and others dont. Soon those who are left behind begin to figure out that the scriptures of the second coming of Christ are beginning.

These books are well written and keep you on the edge of your seat. I loved the series and devoured everyone. My husband found the subject upsetting and could only read the first book..I think they touch us all in our own way.

What if? Nobody knows exactly how the future events of end-times prophecy will unfold. Left Behind takes the view that the "Rapture," "being caught up" referred to in 1 Thessalonians 4:17, when the "dead in Christ and we who are alive and remain" will be caught up in the clouds to meet the Lord" happens before the Tribulation. Those who remain have been "Left Behind."

I read this book shortly after it was released and I'm re-reading the Kindle version right now. Something I noticed today that is now incredibly jarring to me - all the mentions of Pastor Billings' VHS tape that he'd recorded have been changed to "DVD". Furthermore, when Rayford is taking stock of all the items that were taken in the break-in, he notices that iPods are missing - when they weren't in the original. I could ignore it easier if the editors hadn't done such a sloppy job - Rayford mentions wanting to leave the DVD "in the VCR", and that he'd "rewound" it for Chloe to watch later. Incredibly bad job. I keep wondering what else they've changed in the series to keep up with the times.

Outstanding value
The third Left Behind movie was as good as the first two. Amazon's price, shipping cost, and speed of delivery are excellent.
