5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS DEVOTIONAL
I just got online to purchase another copy of this devotional to gift to a new Mom. I couldn't help but stop and write a review after reading the one star opinion.

Every page of this devotional has an uplifting encouraging message along with a Bible verse. The reason I was planning to buy a copy for a gift is that there are some "teaching moments" and...

This book has nothing to do with the book entitled The Blessing. The Legacy is a bunch of silly case histories and worn out ideas couched in sentimental language. Bible verses which have little to do with the explanations are thrown in. There are Harlequin Romance affirmations for each day of the year, too. By that I mean that you would have to be a female without a...

5.0 out of 5 stars LOVE THIS DEVOTIONAL, December 10, 2007
This review is from: The Legacy of the Blessing: A Mother's Devotional (The Blessing Meditations Series) (Paperback)
I just got online to purchase another copy of this devotional to gift to a new Mom. I couldn't help but stop and write a review after reading the one star opinion.

Every page of this devotional has an uplifting encouraging message along with a Bible verse. The reason I was planning to buy a copy for a gift is that there are some "teaching moments" and wisdom tucked between the covers that, in my opinion, will bless a new Mother and give her insights and ideas on how she may choose to parent. The one page format is an easy chunk for even the busiest Mom to tuck into her heart to start the day.

The copy I have is very small and the paper isn't of the highest quality. I would like to see this reprinted in a bit larger size using nicer paper. However, I will still buy the book as is because I think the content is worthy of being read. I wish they would come out with a new edition of this devotional every year.

I also highly recommend the original book this devotional is loosly based on, THE GIFT OF THE BLESSING by Smalley and Trent. Actually, I wouldn't say this devotional is based on the book so much as it is a fleshed out version of practical ways to bless your children and communicate with them.

Bible verses which have little to do with the explanations are thrown in. There are Harlequin Romance affirmations for each day of the year, too. By that I mean that you would have to be a female without a forebrain to appreciate the sappy prose. There is also no explanation given for why this book was written. Why are "Mothers" mentioned in the title? Avoid this trash.
