Book Description

January 20, 2009
The re-animated corpse of a suicidal, junkie, male whore vampire - Jazriel's description of himself.... Others have more colourful and explicit opinions about him! Jazriel is the least obvious character to join the pantheon of literature s heroes; vain, hedonistic, insecure and not too bright. Harsher demons then most haunt him - demons like hope and optimism. He is also beautiful, charming and recklessly courageous. With the Dark Kind's future hanging in the balance, their only hope of survival is the unlikely pairing of this dissolute wreck of a blood-drinker and Gabrielle Devane, a feisty, vampire-hating human. Blood Lament continues the story of the Dark Kind; eternally youthful, amoral beings of the night, who have preyed on man since the dawn of recorded history but who now, in turn, are in danger of being preyed upon by their enemies.

5.0 out of 5 stars Raven Dane's beautiful, very bad boy Jazriel stars in Blood Lament, May 9, 2007
This review is from: Legacy of the Dark Kind: Blood Lament (Book 2) (Paperback)
After spellbinding the reader with dark enchantment in Blood Tears, Raven Dane seduces us with Blood Lament, the latest in the Legacy of the Dark Kind series. It tells the story of her charismatic , beautiful and very bad boy Jazriel and his reckless downward spiral which threatens the other surviving Dark Kind. As with the first book, this is beautifully written, fast-paced and intriguing. And it leaves the reader thirsting for more dark deeds and adventures with the Dark Kind vampires. And not a bat, cape, coffin or frightened maiden throughout. A startling original story.

This review is from: Legacy of the Dark Kind: Blood Lament (Book 2) (Paperback)
Having read Blood Tears, I was looking forward to reading this book. Unfortunately, I had a very hard time getting into the story. It seemed to move very slowly and it was hard to truly like the flawed characters. I have the utmost respect for Raven Dane and will continue to purchase her work. I just did not enjoy this one as much as the first.

5.0 out of 5 stars Breaking stereotypes and hooking me, July 27, 2011
This is the sequel to Blood Tears - and I'm so glad I got to read it right after finishing the first book (bonus). Jazriel is such a reckless and self-sabotaging Dark brooding delicious being, I want to take him home. As usual, Dane doesn't stick to any stereotypes, which is probably why i like this book so much :D

I want more! Full stars because I'm hooked
