I looked all around for a cheap car DVD player (without a screen). This was the only one I found with any reviews at all. I wanted USB / SD card slots and buttons on the unit to skip through songs. I haven't had the greatest luck with the cheapest car stereo I could find in the past but I decided to give this one a try.

So far I'm very happy for the price I paid.

PROS:
It does not skip while playing any CD or DVD movie even over bumpy roads. It plays backup copies of DVDs which was essential seeing as I did not want to keep my originals in the car.
The USB and SD slots work well and scan the entire card or USB drive for MP3s. It took about 30-40 seconds to scan my 8gb USB drive before starting to play. My 2gb SD card takes only a few seconds.
The remote has real rubber buttons instead of flat dome buttons.
I like the single large volume dial.

CONS:
The buttons on the unit are small and hard to identify especially while driving. You have to remember what each button is. I only use the play/pause and random so it's not too difficult. (the next/last buttons on the left are easier)

You basically cannot use the unit to play DVD movies without the remote unless all you wanted to do was press the play/pause key. Speaking of the remote, while it has rubber buttons it also has a lot of them and they are not well labeled. I accidentally put the unit into PAL instead of AUTO or NTSC and it took some playing to figure out what happened and what button to push to fix it. (ended up being a button labeled "SYS") The SD slot does not work with "High Capacity" SD cards.

Random detail: The wiring is pretty standard from what I've seen lately in car stereos. The speaker color coding is standard. There are one RCA video out, right/left audio out and a sub-woofer out. The speaker wires did not come with any sort of plug so if you hook it up directly to your wires there is no way to unplug the unit if you ever need to. I just used the plugs from the previous radio, the colors all matched exactly, but if your old stereo wires plugged directly into the unit you may want to look into picking up a plug set.

I'm not one to ask about sound quality. If I can hear it, it's good enough for me. However, it was a big improvement over my previous ultra-cheap CD player. No more buzzing and annoying sounds bleeding through while driving.

It does play DVD movies when you hook up an external monitor. Or you can burn a gazillion MP3s onto a DVD-R and use that if you can't afford a $10 SD card.

I'll update this review in the coming weeks if I discover anything new I like or hate.

I bought this In-Dash DVD player because my previous CD player was stolen. My old CD player could hold about 120 MP3's which was great. However I decided to purchase this DVD player, and I was amazed. A buddy of mine created a DVD with 835 MP3's on it and it played flawlessly in this stereo.

Also I couple days after I bought it, I drove from Kentucky to California and still didn't make it through the entire DVD. I don't have a screen yet, but there are plenty of outputs in the rear of the stereo for that. And also and auxiliary input for your game systems.

Last but not least, I can take my memory card out of my PDA and put it directly into the DVD player. It when then play my mp3's, and also show the pics and videos I've taken, (if I had a screen). Also there's a usb port. This thing is awesome and I only paid $106....

Bought this "car radio" (not to be offended the real car radios) on March 2010 and in July 2010 4 months later the CD stop working. I also noticed that every time you turn the car on it takes like 30 seconds to start the "radio" when in cd mode, this is frustrating. I don't recomend this product and hope Amazon keep it unavialble.
