Excellent replacement for my original Toyota Avalon rear subwoofer. Replacement cost from Toyota for the original JBL sub is $271.00+.

This sub cost $9.00 and works perfectly! Highly recommend!

Purchased as a replacement for a 2000 Avalon. Don't expect the same sound as the original JBL and you should be satisfied. Sounds underpowered, well because it is. But for <$20 including shipping I don't really think you can beat it. I will probably end up repairing the original, but this gives me plenty of time to procrastinate. Just make sure to take the time to desolder and resolder the leads rather than trying to splice them, unless you want to lose more power.

Economical replacement for the rear speaker in a 2002 Toyota Avalon. It may not have as much punch as the factory JBL but at this price how could you complain.

Not the greatest speaker, I'd never buy one for myself, but as per all the other reviews here, I bought this to replace the old blown sub in my in-laws Avalon.
Packaging was decent, i wished it would have rated the RMS/continuous power rating on the box somewhere, all it claimed was the useless peak power... not that it mattered too much being installed to replace a car with the stock head unit.

Build quality was decent looking, not really any complaints for the cheap price paid. The connectors could have been attached to a little sturdier piece of material, but as long as you don't manhandle it it's fine, and once its installed you will never touch it again anyway.

The cone and rubber surround looked pretty beefy for such a cheaply priced speaker, hopefully it will last longer than the stock paper cone woofer that was there.

The weight and magnet was somewhat lighter than the stock woofer, so you can tell it's a cheaply made speaker, but again, for a stock head unit, it's not going to matter much.

Once installed, it sounded pretty decent. I think because it's wattage was rated much higher than the stock one, it would have benefited from being hooked up to a small amp maybe, but it was able to use what power was being pumped to it and filled in the lows with a rich sound. All in all, I'm happy with this purchase, as are my in-laws who now don't have to listen to the crackle of a blown paper woofer anymore.

Installation went well for the Avalon. Getting the old one out was easy, you will have to use the plastic ring it's mounted to to screw this new speaker to it. also you will need to clip the little connector off the old speaker (it's soldered on) and use some spade connectors or solder it onto the new speaker.

My OEM Chevy Suburban sub speaker dry rotted and I bought this for a replacement. Unexpectedly Chevrolet had made a custom size OEM speaker. The chevy speaker is rated at 2ohms. The mounting points protrude beyond the standard 8" speaker size and they are slim in depth. I had to mod the sub box to make the speaker fit and the legacy speaker is rated at 4ohms. The speaker works but is not as loud do to the ohm's change. Its not Legacys fault its chevy way of making go back to the dealer for parts. You can order the OEM speaker from chevrolet for a hefty price of $150.

I couldn't have been wiser in purchasing these speakers. My old cones finally went in a 1980's-era home system. These were cheaper than a refoam and are significantly better than the original speakers. I'm not sure how these sound in a car but my little 300 watt (rms) amp runs these nicely. Great bass, rattles all the painting on the wall and upstairs room mate texted me to turn it down a few minutes into their test run. I highly recommend these speakers for a cheap sub replacement into any home theater-style box system. You won't regret it!

I ordered this woofer for a 1999 ford explorer limited. the factory woofer measured 8 inches from screw hole to screw hole. After ordering this, i noticed it said 9 inches in diameter so i cancelled the order because it would be an inch too large. I was too late in cancelling so i ended up receiving the package. to my surprise, this woofer measured 8 inches exactly. It would fit the explorer's stock sub enclosure perfectly.

i have not used this woofer yet. I ordered the boss chaos 8 inch woofer and had to drill new holes because it didn't line up.

Amazon, fix the dimensions!

You get what you pay for. This won't compare very well to budget name brand subs. But it will fill in some bass. Not so stable when pushed. But at low volume levels it can produce decent lows. Not very hard hitting, but does the job if you want a cheap, small sub, to warm up your sound. Would be good to add balanced bass to a factory car stereo. If you have an aftermarket system, the bass will not be enough. I was pushing this sub with an amp matched to true rms ratings of this sub at 4ohms.
