Editorial Reviews

Product Description

Check out these unique, well written and marvelously performed marches by the Texas A&M University Bands under the baton of one of America’s most informed march experts, Dr. Timothy Rhea. The entire set of CDs, currently four volumes, features favorite "West Texas" Marches. It is a treat to hear these uncommon marches. You can’t help but wonder, "How come we don’t hear more of these wonderful marches???" --This text refers to an alternate Audio CD edition.

4.0 out of 5 stars good recording of too-long neglected marches, March 25, 2008
The Texas A&M University bands, under the direction of Timothy Rhea, have been recording new editions of classic marches, many of which have been out-of-print for years. Included here in this fourth volume are such classics as American Emblem and Barnum and Bailey's Favorite, but there are also some obscure gems such as Harry L. Alford's march arrangement of the WWI song, 'The World Is Waiting for the Sunrise.' The performances are all good to very good and the recording is fine. A little more presence to the band could probably have been had without sacrificing balance and blend, but parts can be heard reasonably clearly. A very enjoyable addition to the band catalog, too long neglected. Thank you, Texas A&M!
