This book is easy to read and describes legal project management in practical terms. It recognizes current issues and challenges in the legal industry including increasing demand of clients for alternative pricing arrangements and additional value for fees.

This book is a life-saver for the "accidental project manager" in a law firm or legal department and a relief for any legal professional who has found traditional project management methodologies overly cumbersome for legal practice. Many of us who style ourselves as legal project managers came to project management through our involvement in managing large electronic discovery projects, which lends itself to more traditional project management approaches. Most material about applying "project management" to legal work in general, however, amounts to little more than time-management and communication advice with a new label.

Stephen Levy, provides a balanced, practical, and immediately applicable approach to managing legal projects, which avoids overly burdensome processes without dumbing things down. This is the first book I recommend to any legal professional looking to better understand and apply project management methods to legal work.

This is the first and will be one of the best books written on the subject of legal project management. Busy legal professionals will certainly appreciate the approach taken by DayPack Books and Levy with "the spread." I certainly did. This book will be a constant reference for many years to come and I look forward to more from Levy.

The book is poorly written and apparenly not edited. I found the book very difficult to read. The author frequently raised concepts and ideas without developing them.

Steve's book is insightful, thought-provoking and highly readable. It is an important contribution on improving the effectiveness of law practice, and to the well-established field of project management. The title says it all - with an emphasis on sanity - for lawyers as well as clients.
