Levy, a leading expert in the field, writes with clarity and insight gained from his 35 years of business, project, and legal experience. This book is easy to read and describes legal project management in practical terms. It recognizes current issues and challenges in the legal industry including increasing demand of clients for alternative pricing arrangements and additional value for fees.

This book is a life-saver for the "accidental project manager" in a law firm or legal department and a relief for any legal professional who has found traditional project management methodologies overly cumbersome for legal practice. Many of us who style ourselves as legal project managers came to project management through our involvement in managing large electronic discovery projects, which lends itself to more traditional project management approaches. Most material about applying "project management" to legal work in general, however, amounts to little more than time-management and communication advice with a new label.

Stephen Levy, provides a balanced, practical, and immediately applicable approach to managing legal projects, which avoids overly burdensome processes without dumbing things down. This is the first book I recommend to any legal professional looking to better understand and apply project management methods to legal work.

This is the first and will be one of the best books written on the subject of legal project management. Busy legal professionals will certainly appreciate the approach taken by DayPack Books and Levy with "the spread." I certainly did. This book will be a constant reference for many years to come and I look forward to more from Levy.
