Editorial Reviews

Review

""Getting around the law library can be easy—if you just know where to look-and Legal Research the place to begin"". Library Journal

""The 16th updated edition of Legal Research: How to Find & Understand the Law tells how to locate key laws and cases either online or in a law library, how to draft legal memoranda, and how to make the most of the Web and a legal library to locate statutes, cases, background information and answers to specific legal issues. Chapters offer keys to organization, ""shepardizing', prioritizing, using indexes, and analyzing the effect of a case on your particular issue: in short, it outlines the basics of an attorney's research and judgment process and will help users save hundreds of dollars in attorney fees just by doing some of the legal legwork that anyone can do. Very highly recommended!""  The Midwest Book Review

**EDITED 11.29.13**

I wrote this review bc I was getting those stupid reminder emails from Amazon to, "follow up with a review" and/or "review this product." It was written in a fit of pique because do not like to use Kindle and felt frustrated at the machinations Amazon engages in to reduce consumer choice. My thoughts on the textbook are contained in the title. I do not plan to expand beyond that.

**Original review**

I'm a little upset it's only available through Kindle. I've tried to avoid having anything to do with the Kindle thing b/c Amazon is so resistant to letting readers read ebooks on any device they choose. All my ereaders are epub compatible, and with the exception of this and Understanding Labor Law, every ebook I've ever purchased has been available through other sellers. At the time I purchased these books, they were only available through Amazon, and the ebook version was much, *much* cheaper than the physical version. I downloaded the Kindle app to my tablet in order to access them, but I'm just really upset that a) Amazon is so intent on "encouraging" everyone to get Kindles that they continue to restrict digital content from people who own non-Amazon ereaders, and b) the app was so buggy that I have to read the books on my computer, and Amazon won't give any options for me to download the file so I can fiddle with it and put it on my device. It's like I don't even own it unless it's through Amazon-approved channels, and it sucks.
