5.0 out of 5 stars A perfect CD for any time of the day!!
I bought this CD because I absolutely loved the movie. Many of the songs make you want to get up and dance. Hoku's "Perfect Day" is probably the highlight of the soundtrack because it is featured a couple of times in the movie but the other songs are just as good as well. Here are my thoughts on each song:

I am a man and I loved the movie, but then I happen to think of women as better than most men. Perhaps that's why my wife keeps me around. Anyway about half this soundtrack is great and about half will wear a little thin after several plays. I still recommend the soundtrack, especially if you like Perfect Day. A Thousand Miles, and Watch Me Shine.

I bought this CD because I absolutely loved the movie. Many of the songs make you want to get up and dance. Hoku's "Perfect Day" is probably the highlight of the soundtrack because it is featured a couple of times in the movie but the other songs are just as good as well. Here are my thoughts on each song:

1. Perfect Day- a very fun song and makes you want to dance and actually makes your day a perfect day because of the lyrics and the beat.

2. Love is A Beautiful Thing- a typical song from Krystal and an excellent song. If you liked "Supergirl" from Princess Diaries, you will like this song.

3. We Could Still Belong Together- very upbeat and good lyrics. A very enjoyable song.

4. Don't Need You To Tell Me I'm Pretty- One of my favorite songs on the soundtrack. It is a slow song and has beautiful lyrics sung by Samantha Mumba.

5. One Girl Revolution- This song is not one of my favorites but it is still a good and upbeat song.

6. A Thousand Miles- A VERY good song. Vanessa Carlton has a beautiful song and does a wonderful job singing this song.

7. Magic- Another of my favorites. This song really makes you want to dance too.

8. Watch Me Shine- This song is my absolute favorite. The beat is fast and definitely gets you hooked on to it.

9. Ooh La La- Another great song. It has a kind of calypso beat to it and is very enjoyable.

10. Can't Get Me Down- Another upbeat song. It makes you want to get up and dance.

11. Sex Machine- Mya does a great job singing this song and it is also upbeat and moving and very enjoyable.

All in all, if you liked the movie, I think you will like this soundtrack. Most of the songs are upbeat and easy to dance to and it is definitely one of my favorites. If you have any doubts, just go out and buy it because you won't be disappointed.

4.0 out of 5 stars Songs that stick in your head, July 15, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Legally Blonde (Audio CD)
These songs are a good mix of light floating music like "ooh la la" to the hopeful melodies of "we could still belong together". It's a cd you'll listen to non stop and then you'll suddenly realize that you're walking around shouting "la la your love makes me sick." I don't even know what I'm singing about but suddenly I'm singing it. Hoku's "Perfect Day" is definitely the highlight of the CD, in my opinion, and is just as good or better than pop songs out now, with fun lyrics and a good beat. All and all, I recommend this to people into dance and pop and my bet a lot of people are going to buy this after have seeing the movie, because walking out of the theater, you're singing "its the perrrrrrrrrrrrrrfectttttttt day" and the happy music is just addictive

I love this CD and it seems to always be in the CD player. Its a bit on the bubble gum side of music, but one needs a balance for the depressing music everyone else seems to make. Its the kind of CD that I'd like to buy for my sister and girlfriends. Funny that I don't remember most of the music being in the movie, except for "Perfect Day" (which I love). No matter, the songs are great and best of all I'm listening to some great artists that I haven't really paid attention to before now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Soundtrack, September 23, 2004
This review is from: Legally Blonde (Audio CD)
1. Perfect Day - A perfect start to the album! A very upbeat, optimistic song. Hoku's vocals are great in this song, and it makes you feel like nothing can get you down. A really fun song. 5/5

2. Love Is a Beautiful Thing - I think Krystal Harris's
vocals are very pretty in this song. But it can be a bit slow. 4/5

3. We Could Still Belong Together - This one just doesn't do it. The music is great and all, but it's easily forgettable. Not one of my faves. 3/5

4. Don't Need You To Tell Me I'm Pretty - I love this song! I was expecting a Stronger-esque pop song, but this one is a slow, lovely ballad. Her voice sounds a lot better in this than it did in her other singles. You can actually hear her voice in this song, and it's a beautiful voice indeed. It's also a girl-powered song, saying that she can feel confident and beautiful on the inside without a guy's flattery. 5/5

5. One Girl Revolution - My fave song on the whole CD! This song is wonderful in every aspect. It's extremely girl-powered, and a perfect track to boost your confidence if you need it. Some people said they didn't like the way she sung it, but in actuality she sung it precise and punctual, like "This is what I'm saying, and you're going to hear it." It has great lyrics, like "I am a voice yet waiting to be heard, I'll shoot the shot that you'll hear round the world." It's a great song about an independent girl making a difference in the world. Great song! 5/5

6. A Thousand Miles - Another wonderful song. Not girl-powered, but makes no difference. Her vocals are great, and the piano part is beautiful and really complements her voice. The piano also steers this song away from the pop category. It's a very nice song and she sings the lyrics in a very meaningful manner. Has a very classic sound to it. 5/5

7. Magic - The only R & B song on the soundtrack. It's great. 5/5

8. Watch Me Shine - This song is just exploding with confidence. This girl is not afraid to go for what she wants. A very strong, upbeat song. You'll want to shoot for your dreams after giving it a listen. The only problem? It sounds too much like "Stronger." 4.5/5

9. Ooh La La - Sorry but this song annoyed the crap out of me. I knew from the first thing I heard - "A little hotter?" it was going to be a bad track. This is just filler material. 3/5

10. Can't Get Me Down - I love this song because it's one of those "Angry Girl Femme Rock" songs. The guitars are great as are the lyrics - a girl being dumped by her guy but not giving a d**n. She declares that he will never bring her down or break her. The only problem was her voice was a little, just a teensy weensy bit annoying because it was going so low. 4.7/5

11. Sex Machine - I was never a big fan of Mya's, so this song is okay I guess. Pretty upbeat, and whoever was featured in it was pretty cool too. Pretty danceable song. 4/5

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Soundtrack!, February 10, 2003
By A Customer
This review is from: Legally Blonde (Audio CD)
This soundtrack is definitely one of the best. The word excellent falls short here. The songs on this CD are very worthy of the money you pay. "Watch Me Shine" is the BEST song on this CD and worth the price alone. But songs "Perfect Day," "We Could Still Belong Together," and "Don't Need You To (Tell Me I'm Pretty)" are other highlights. There are actually no bad songs on this CD, just some you prefer over others.

Not only is "Legally Blonde" the movie great, but so is it's soundtrack. It has an awesome theme of girl power and helps to pump you up when you need it.
