I bought this bookcase based on a number of very positive reviews at both the T-store and the Wal-store websites. The instructions are simply pictures, no words; but they are very small sketches on a large page. It was hard for me and my son to see the detail of which pieces went in which direction. We finally got it assembled (it took more like 10 minutes than the advertised 3) and stood it up, and it's severely canted forward. We tried various shims and have ended up with two ping-pong paddles underneath it as shims! This is too severe. However, Legare is working with us to find out the problem.

Also, it's called a 59 x 14 x 18 bookcase, but the actual amount of shelf depth is only about 10". So this is not truly useful for what I wanted, which was a shelf inside the front door for handbags, library books, laptops and school backpacks and so on.

Rather than try and return it to Amazon I suppose we will live with it and use it for books in a different room. From now on, no buying furniture sight unseen!!

I purchased this bookcase in white for my daughter's bedroom. Her room is small and she has a lot of books to store. The bookcase arrived when expected and took me 5 minutes to assemble on my own. It literally fits together like a puzzle and while the pictures in the directions may be a little small, the design is very intuitive and easy to figure out. The bookcase fits solidly together and has a good weight to it. It does come with a simple anti-topple kit which will secure the bookcase to the wall, but my daughter is 8 and will not be climbing it so I have not had to use this kit. The shelves of the completed bookcase are deep enough to easily hold oversize books. The top of the bookcase is large enough to hold a lamp an a 8 x 10 photo frame. Just wish I could find this in black for my son's room.
