I purchased this desk for my 16year old daughter for her smallish room. She loves it and it looks very nice in her room. The edges are all smooth and finished nice. The color is fantastic and suits a teenagers style very nicely. My daughter and husband put the desk together in about 15 minutes. No tools are needed for assembly but a second pair of hands is helpful when putting them together. We have the desk against a wall and just set the hutch on top of the desk and it is very sturdy. I suppose if you have a young child that may potentially climb the desk/hutch it would be wise to secure the hutch to the wall. I can see this desk being used for many years to come.

I don't even know where to start. I've only read one review of this desk, but I fell in love with it anyway. I just got it today. I received it in two weeks from BizChair. They're not joking when they say easy and fun to assemble. I'm sure my 6-year-old nephew could put it together. It was like putting together a puzzle, but instead of having a useless picture of a dolphin, you have this marvelous desk and hutch! It's sturdy, seems very sturdy. The quality is magnificent. Just a beautiful piece of furniture. I'm waiting for my tax refund to get the the media shelf thing. And the best part is that BizChair had the best deal I've seen online plus free shipping.
