More About the Author

"We have a voice so that we may speak, and we speak to be heard. Since our words have the power to change the world then let's practice speaking on something worth hearing about: Never underestimate a dangerous ideology; the largest threat to our world today. To win a war we need to understand the foundation the rivals beliefs were built upon... Before there can be any kind of lasting positive change we have to be able to change hearts and minds.

A veteran of the war in Afghanistan and Iraq, working now as a contractor. Continuing writing, working on his novels and continuing his education, receiving a BS in Religion and Theology. Always keeping in mind the best future possible for the children. Living with a new sense of appreciation for being able to share with you meaningful and inspiring discoveries. Writing with the hope others will recognize their full potential even during the most troubling of times. Desiring to be able to help others rediscover their passion in life, and who they are.

The novel "First Dynasty, The Rise And Fall Of Cain" was written in Afghanistan and the U.S. "Legatum" was written during a deployment to Iraq in 2010. Before returning from a recent deployment to Afghanistan in 2012 another book was completed titled "Discovering Purpose".

Two of several positive reviews for "Legatum" can be viewed below.

"I was looking for something new to read the other day. A friend recommended Legatum to me, and what a good recommendation it was. Legatum had everything I was looking for; it was quirky, intriguing, and entertaining. The story of Nicky's journey of discovery had it all: love of family, adventure, mythical and supernatural characters, sex, moral choices, and the pain of addiction. Who could ask for more? The last chapter kept me riveted, and made me stay up way to late - but I had to find out how the story ended. With the unique mix the author brings to bear, he might just be on the cusp of creating an entirely new genre. Well done Mr. Brunk, well done!"

5.0 out of 5 stars A Must Read, February 5, 2013

"Legatum kept me reading from beginning to end! What start off as a simple love story with hot passion turns quickly into a journey of a boy becoming a man and finding out who he really is in the world. With a paranormal twist and mythical gods, Nicholas journey is not an easy one, but one of love, sacrifices and redemption. This book made me laugh with light humor and witty comments, to bringing me half way to tears with the sad background stories. I fine that the greatest thing about this book is that even if you're not use to reading a paranormal story, I feel you will like this story anyway. I found this book had everything I like: romance, fantasy and ancient myths with real world basics and a plot that will have you biting your nails, this books ending had me wanting more."

What started out as a simple promise to read the author's book (for we work together), turned out to be the best kept promise.

Legatum is one of the best novels I have read in quite some time. What started out as a simple promise to read the author's book (for we work together), turned out to be the best kept promise. I am not typically into fictional stories. However, this page turning story kept me biting my tongue in suspense. I could not read it fast enough to see the plot evolve and really take shape. I could relate to the characters for they were so realistic and fascinating. I felt like I was there in the story with them. There are a few captivating scenes of pure lust and attraction. In these scenes the author has such a descriptive way of drawing you into the scene, making you wish that was you on those pages. He captures every part of your humanity within the pages of his book, that you will not be able to put it down once you start. The way the ending all comes together is priceless, each piece falling into place perfectly. I would highly recommend this book to anyone.
