5.0 out of 5 stars I couldn't put this book down
In this fantasic novel, Frank Peretti captures you up in the story of a murderess, and a time warp that send Jay, Lila and a sheriff through time. The suspense this story delivers is unbearable. I didn't want to stop. Even for school. If you like mysteries, this is for you!

1.0 out of 5 stars tricky -- hidden Christian
This book promotes Christianity, but this is not mentioned in the book's description. Deceitful.

5.0 out of 5 stars Whosever will may read, October 27, 1999
By A Customer
This book was excellent. I have every book Frank has ever written and I have read all of them at least three times. Except for Visitation and Prophet. Frank is perhaps the best writer around in the Christian field or in the secular field. This entire Cooper series is not for every 9-12 year old. The intensity of some of the books may be too much. These are excellent for adults looking for a good clean adventure story.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Book with Spirit--Or Is It?, April 21, 1999
By A Customer
As a long-devoted fan of Peretti, I was curious to see what he would do with a ghost. I'm not going to give the answer away, but I'll encourage you to read this first chance you get. It won't take long--I finished it in less than an hour--and the plot is incredible. This is the kind of book that bends your mind while it takes your breath away. I would have to say that Peretti has done it again.

4.0 out of 5 stars A cool unexpected plot from a Christian author, May 4, 2010
For a Christian author this book had a nice surprise that you wouldn't think a Christian author would tackle. I really liked it though. I would say this is one of my favorites of the series. I don't want to spoil it of what was unexpected but I like the way two characters put it on pg. 82 - "Sounds like something God does every day," said Dr. Cooper, reflecting on it." He knew us before we were born."

"He can see across time."

"He's everywhere. He can reach out and help us no matter where we are."

"He can reach across space."

"He knows all things." Dr. Cooper smiled and looked at Mac. "And that's something not even Annie Murphy, or anyone else outside time and space, can do."

It was an easy read and movie like just like Peretti's other works. There were two sides trying to figure out the same thing and it came together really well. This book was a nice change in the series to try and explain a ghostly figure. The Cooper family got to help bring the truth out of a legend and rest for the one that needed the truth to come out. I will be reading this one again.

5.0 out of 5 stars I am not 9-12 years old, December 19, 1997
By A Customer
I am not a pre-teen, but you don't really have to be in order to enjoy this book. In fact, it may even be a little too heavy for 9-12 year olds. At first when I started reading it, I thought that it was a little far-fetched. As I continued into the book, I realized just how wrong I was. As you get more involved in the plot the question of whether it could or couldn't happen is not important to the reader. He/she is so busy trying to finish the book that he/she will not have time to ponder the greater questions this book may bring.

5.0 out of 5 stars This One's a WINNER!, December 11, 2007

Wet my students' appetites with this one, and they love it! Better still, Scholastic has a Reading Counts quiz for this excellent story (as well as other titles in this series). Furthermore, parents and educators can thank Peretti for providing fun, wholesome literature with Christian values.

5.0 out of 5 stars A great time-travel story, February 4, 2003
By
Dave (Lexington, Kentucky) - See all my reviews
Is there anything that Peretti can't write - or won't? This time (get it?) the Coopers are in the good old US, and traveling with their old buddy Mac to a strange desert location. Ghostly sightings, and massive cliff carvings make their trip worth it...until they are separated by the minor amount of two hundred years! Jay and Lila desperately try to decipher the messages being left in the past...while Doc and Mac try to decipher the messages being left at the same time...in the future!!

The adventure and fun of the Coopers hits new heights with The Legend of Annie Murphy.
