This review is from: The Legend of Destiny (Paperback)
Very entertaining -- it kept my interest throughout.
It is part a good science fiction ("the kind of emergency situation when the Xion's third brain took over total control of the second pair of hands"), part simple lessons in science ("Our planet is similar to the Earth with life built around carbon as the basic building block"), and part good family values ("After dinner, she helped Mom with dishes, as she did everyday"). The alien's effort to understand our language and culture was intriguiging -- "Ever since his arrival, Kreiwa has seen Kelly go to school and come back in this curious vehicle with a strange yellow color." Certainly would be interesting for 6- to 12-year olds, but adults may find it irresitable too! |
