Book Description

Nancy Drew
ON THE EXOTIC ISLAND OF ST. ANN, NANCY SEARCHES FOR SECRETS BURIED IN THE PAST!

Swimming, sailing, and snorkeling are all that Nancy, Bess, and Ned expect when they visit old friends at their nineteenth-century plantation, Sugar Moon. But when a strange man appears, brandishing a cutlass, and Nancy discovers traces of intruders, her curiosity is aroused. Soon she comes across a faded love letter with clues to the hiding place of a long-dead pirate's precious gift -- a fabulous emerald necklace.

Many colorful island characters have a serious stake in finding the treasure, and Nancy barely escapes from their traps, on land and at sea. Then, just as Nancy locates the necklace, it's about to slip from her grasp forever!

More About the Author

Carolyn Keene and Franklin W. Dixon are the pseudonyms under which many ghostwriters penned the Nancy Drew and Hardy Boys series, respectively. Both series were created by Edward Stratemeyer, founder of the Stratemeyer Syndicate book packaging firm, in the late 1920s and early 1930s.

Stratemeyer's daughter, Harriet, and syndicate writer Mildred Wirt Benson were the two people primarily responsible for bringing the iconic character of Nancy Drew to life in the minds and hearts of millions of readers around the world.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Legend of the Emerald Lady, ..., December 13, 2002
By A Customer
This review is from: The Legend of the Emerald Lady (Nancy Drew) (Paperback)
Nancy Drew, Ned, and Bess are off on a tropical adventure to Sugar Moon Plantation on St Anne island. Sugar Moon Plantation is an old house from the 1800s, that Nancy and the gang have come to help turn into a stylish hotel. But when they get there, they relise that this mysterious house holds much more than run down furniture; It holds a mystery from the past.
The sun is above them, the sea is below them, and mystery is dead ahead. Old love notes, an emerald necklace, and shady charecters, all rolled up into one fantastic mystery! Read The Legend of the Emerald Lady for a tropical thrill.
I enjoyed this book very much. I love reading and writing. Please check out my other reviews!

4.0 out of 5 stars Bess' Dream Not To Come True!, June 23, 2000
By A Customer
This review is from: The Legend of the Emerald Lady (Nancy Drew) (Paperback)
Yet again, we see Bess fall for a charming . . uh, suspect. A mystery filled with intrigue . . . feathers found at the scene of a crime that could belong to two different suspects . . . snorkelers surrounded by barracuda . . Nancy receiving salads laced with poisonous fruit . . . and two "antsy" disasters! This book will keep you excited and on the edge of your seat.

I really liked this book. Especially the setting. The caribbean, palm trees, snorkling, beaches. The action moved along really well and I loved it!
