Book Description

August 26, 1999
A contemporary Celtic-American Myth and a gripping, imaginative novel. A fifth century Celtic chieftain and his Druid counselor are tricked by the god Mannanan and arrive in contemporary Manhattan. They struggle to survive and adapt and eventually thrive as a gangster and a media executive. The ending is a surprise. Daly has written an intricate, gritty dream in which the details of modern life surround the main characters and bring them face to face with all their beliefs and customs. The Gods have demanded an answer and the Chieftain and Druid find those answers in politics, crime, love, money, and family. The ending reveals a great deal of information and insight into two cultures that are separated by 1500 years and an ocean.
