A Heroic Sensual Delight. (Shades of Richard Burton),
This review is from: The legend of Krishna (Hardcover)
The reader is told the method used in telling this ancient epic is an attempt to put them into a trance, releasing the spell of their imagination like a genie from a bottle. This is a VERY early and bold version. This is Krishna at a very primitive stage. (I always enjoy the earlier gutsy versions before things become too theologically meally mouthed.) Krishna is mischievous and erotic. He dances with all the gopis under the moonlight, seduces his love, Rahda, discovers he is an incarnation of Vishnu, and challenges demons and a tyrant king. The blue man from the forest, Krishna, and his beautiful Rahda, will capture your heart and make it sing. This is a great story you will read over and over. As you grow older you will treasure and hold on to this wondrous story of magic, romance, youth and heroism. Yeah, I got hooked bad. Love this story! (I am not surprised the author dedicated this book to his parents. This story abounds with love.)
