5.0 out of 5 stars Legend of Kyrandia, August 22, 2006
= Fun:5.0 out of 5 stars
Everyone blamed evil jester Malcolm for his deeds, how he turned everyone to stone (which was true), and how he killed King and the Queen (which is absolutely not true, and you'll prove that). The game has three different endings, and at the end credits, you'll see how the Westwood Team combined with painted Malcolm. It's crazy marvelous.

Now, it's your turn to tell the world your side of the truth. You will be helped by your bad memories aided by unconsciousness, and later in the game, you'll be determined to choose between the good and the bad one. This game has many paths; you can go to the jungle in six different ways: as a Pegasus, via the magic carpet, as a desguised fish-circus captain, ... you follow me?

The graphic is advanced from the first two games, and the music is not the mystic one, but this music is really a happy type of music. Anyway, it suits with the game and Malcolm's jokes. Now, you start at the end of the first part. You remember when Brandon turned you into stone (as you did to every villager on this island), and finally, the moment of glory comes. The thunderbolt strikes you, and pushes you pretty far. But at least you're alive, and with a full bag of tricks. Take a few neccessary things from the nearby garbage, and visit Kyrandia again. Have fun!

5.0 out of 5 stars like a Canary in a Coma., June 11, 2010

This review is from: The Legend of Kyrandia Book 3: Malcolm's Revenge (CD-ROM)
I liked Mal Malcolm from Day one(book one) though played by a different actor, he was funny then funnier now. You now play the part of the antagonist you were dodging/parring dangerous deaths from in parts one and two. Your only true "compainion" some pesky angel/devil who keeps making "commentary" on your life. Your motive is, unlike the first two, collecting trash/seemingly(SEEMINGLY) useless junk and turning it into something else. you get points for style as well. McGiver" points for being "inventive" with crap(like my peers/neighbors call me in real life "Lawn McGuiver") being a real jerk really pays off with your "Guide" either beaming you being a jerk or a lying bastard, or scruitinizing your "wholesomeness". You will meet old "pals"(aquiantences) Brandon, "King" Brandon, and Zanthia, your predessesor "pro" tagonists. the laugh track is funny in a sense of being "M.A.S.H." out doorsy with a studio audience feel and cheezy one-liners.(and you have the option to turn it off if it doesn't fit your tastes)

these games are hard not to love. though by first impression, they seem uninteresting they really grow on you as the King's Quest series. Often, scenic areas and "zones" are accompanied by an excellent, jazzy soundtrack. This one(LoK3 MR), as with KQ5's "King" Graham, is heavily narrated(and fitting) with voicese in and out of your head, like that owl from King's QUest V. "Malcolm's "compainion" never lets him alone to do anything without saying something about it. You get two narrators here too, a studio audience and some NPC's with a very low opinon of you, though your never alone.(and it's anoyingly humourous) that's why it's so funny.
