Frank Foster,the multi-talented 'tenor giant' pays the greatest of tributes to the 'Count'
in this remarkable production.Foster's presence is everywhere on this session.He arranged and composed all the tunes with the exception of,['Do Nothin'Til'You Here From Me(Ellington-Russell/arr.Eric Dixon,Whirly Bird(Neal Hefti/arr.Neal Hefti,and 'Exactly Like You'(Fields/McHugh-arr.Eric Dixon].The band is burning at both ends on 'The Booze Brothers','Katherine The Great',and the exceptional 'The Count Basie Remembrance Suite'composed and arranged by Frank Foster.If you enjoy Big Bands,you stopped at the right station!This comes highly recommended.Health and Happiness.Enjoy.Check out the smokin'Duffy Jackson on drums.Basie is looking down with a big smile on his face.Hat's off to Frank Foster and the Orchestra.It's a refreshing reminder that the Big Band sound is still very much ALIVE AND KICKING.
