Absolutely brilliant. Hailing from the folk scene of Ann Arbor, the band will take you on a Great Lakes journey. From the chantey of the title track to the heartwrenching Northern Years, and everything between and after, TOBASOL lays true to their claim of taking you to four ways stops on dirt roads. An indescribable blend of folk/bluesgrass/r&b/classic rock/ and so much more, the talented musicians keep your ears to the speaker as the tracks melt like Superior ice and flow to the Huron then out to sea. From the influences of the Beatles, Steeleye Span, and Jeff Buckley, TOBASOL comes into its own on this diverse but tight debut album. Yet they cannot be compared to these nor any other artist for they truly have tapped into a source of creativity unknown to the common musician.

The Original Brothers & Sisters of Love first album, "The Legende of Jeb Minor" is wild mix of different influences. From cynical to romantic to folksy to country to rock, it's all there. Some wonderful rhythms and complex arrangements. Very difficult to pigeonhole this band. Lyrically brilliant in a Paul Simon sort of way, many of the tracks don't seem to make much sense until after a couple of listens, you begin to form a picture of what it all means. Don't buy this album for background music, buy it to listen to, then listen more than once. You keep hearing new stuff. Sort of like watching "Airplane".

"Charles B's" drumming is a bit lackluster on this album, but that's okay considering, for the most part, his drum parts are buried in the mix.
