The Genius known as Saviour Machine!,
This review is from: Legend Pt.1 (Audio CD)
This album introduced me to Saviour Machine, well actually two songs on a various Artist CD and from there i brought all of their albums! This CD is the beginning of one of the greatest epics in Modern Rock History. Saviour Machine is one of the most creative bands out there and the style they use fits the story they wish to tell "The end of the world"!
This album is the most doomiest album they have put out, this album starts off with a great musical intro, this sets the tone of the album. This album has been described to me as "depressing" and it is very down tempo, which is what I like about it and it sets the mood for the what is going to happen. He is about to tell the story of "how the world ends" and do you want him singing it in an upbeat way, where it sounds like he is happy for it, or do you want him to present it in a down temp beat that borders on Doom? This album shows how he can reach out and play with the emotion of the listener, make them feel sad that the world is coming to an end. He invites you on a journey that will span four albums and listen to the "sound track to the end of the world".

The Beginning of the Largest Musical Epic Ever,
By djhexane (Ohio, USofA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Legend Pt.1 (Audio CD)
Legend Part 1: The beginning of the end. This progressive goth metal act undertakes one of the biggest stories in existence for their conceptual masterworks: Legend. It is the story of the end of the world. This band combines rock, metal, classical, opera (to some extent), progressive, and goth to make one of the most complete (although the story is not complete) albums out there. The story of Revelation and the treasures and horrors that are seen are all brought into focus. They sing of both the good, the bad, the damned, and the saved. They leave nothing out. Legend Part 2, Legend 3:1, and the yet to be released Legend 3:2 are what follows. Get them all so you can sing, cry, and hope your way through hell and reach heaven once more!

Revelation never sounded so good...The wait is almost over for the final CD...I can't wait. Legend is one of the greatest musical accomplishments that the earth has ever seen. Saviour Machine really broke the mold with this one.

The Beginning Of A True Epic,
This review is from: Legend Pt.1 (Audio CD)
In the years I've been listening to Saviour Machine, not one person I've shared their music with has had anything bad to say about it. Don't think that you have to be Goth to love this band. Saviour Machine's sound (as has been said before) is a mix of Goth, Metal, Classical, Opera, and Progressive Rock/Metal.
This Legend series of albums is almost Wagnerian in it's scale; spanning four CDs and, in all likely hood, more than five hours in length when Legend Part III:II is released next summer. Each song moves into the next one seamlessly and, in most cases, with no break in the music. Each one has been a master work in and of itself (Legend Part I in particular), but put them together and you have a musical endeavor that is truly (pardon the bad joke) the stuff of Legends. Alas, to delve too deeply into discussion of Legend would ruin the experience of listening to it. I am eagerly anticipating and patiently waiting for the release of Legend Part III:II next summer. Saviour Machine is pushing for a release date of July 7, 2007. Yes, 7/7/07.

"Thy Kingdom Come . . . ",
By
This review is from: Legend Pt.1 (Audio CD)
" . . . thy will be done on Earth as it is in Hell!!!" And so rises the big badguy in this, the most hard hitting, poetic, beautiful, and horrifying retelling of Revelation ever realized. It's a goth/darkwave rock opera spanning four cds of which this one is the first. Starting with a musical nod to The Omen, the listener is quickly thrown into an all-out war in the middle east where a battle between Palestine and Israel becomes the backdrop for the final deathmatch between the two brothers in the Bible who founded the two religions (Judaism and Islam). From there, the AntiChrist rises and brings with him peace, prosperity, and a world which bears a striking/horrifying resemblance to 1984. And the album leaves us there with a big "to be continued," so you've gotta buy the other 3 albums and the live DVD if you want the rest of the story (As of the time I'm writing this, they've only finished 3 of the 4 parts.) I'm not a fan of Christian music, but this stuff is amazing. This album easily sits right alongside Lacrimosa, Lacuna Coil, Virgin Black, The Gathering, Artrosis, and Therion. Believe me when I say this is shockingly great.

I Love The "Legend" series by Saviour Machine,
This review is from: Legend Pt.1 (Audio CD)
I am a big fan of Saviour Machine. I love to listen to their music with the sound effects and Eric Clayton's vocals in the songs. I currently own a few albums by S.M. I will tell you what albums I have, they are "Saviour Machine I, Saviour Machine II, Behold A Pale Horse, Legend Part I, Legend Part II and Legend Part III:I" I have 6 CD's of Saviour Machine. I love almost ALL of their songs. Especially their "Legend Trilogy". I love listening to thes albums because I love how the whole thing was put together. Everything about the "Legend Trilogy" I gave a 5-Star Rating. The Legend Trilogy is my favorite because I enjoy the Bible reading, the sound effects and the music all mingled into a sort of "Rock Opera" type of album. I HIGHLY recommend this album if you are a fan of "Rock Opera" style musical albums.

Good Stuff,
By
This review is from: Legend Pt.1 (Audio CD)
Well, I grew up in a christian household and well...most of the music played in that house sucked.haha.Luckily when I was about 12 I was handed a demo tape of the since deceased R.E.X. records. It had some good death and hardcore stuff on it.Mainly Six Feet Deep, Living Sac, and Paramecium. So needless to say,I embraced this music to piss off my parents.I kept trying to find darker and darker music...and I can tell you that in the christian world, this is as good as it gets. These legend albums define most of my pre teen years and now as a real musician and fan of many styles of heavy, and not so heavy, and mainly so called "secular" music.I STILL back these albums.Eric Clayton(SM's frontman) has beautiful brooding vocals. And the orchestration as well as song placement of these albums,to me is nothing short of genius. My favorite song would have to be "The Night",a piano/vocals piece. Its great stuff for fans of the "goth" genre as well as doom, and even opera fans I would dare to say.Check it out.

This is A most interesting album! I listened to samples of this CD at a local christian book store. It's hard to describe. It sounds like the star wars soundtrack with a little guitar and A vocalist.Music that John Williams could apreciate. The singers sound like A duet of David bowie and Type O negatives lead singer I believe his name is Peter Steele,But dont quote me on that!any ways I dont Know who they're names are who are in the band,But it rocks and it makes you think about where your relationship is with God! I'm not sure if I'll buy this CD or not?.It is very well done nevertheless.

Here the Journey Begins,
By
This review is from: Legend Pt.1 (Audio CD)
For awhile this was my favorite band only to be topped off by another gothic band. Well let me start off with the negative. The beginning of this cd is slow. The singing begins on track 5. Also before or after a few of the songs there is background talking that isn't made to understand or just hard to make out. It is like they just used this to fill time to create a feel that we are getting a full cd. My favorite tracks are Invasion of Israel, The Beast, and The Antichrist. These tracks fit more of a doom style. These songs create a dark atmosphere of being at war. This should have been played in Lord of the Rings during the battle scenes. It is a great cd but this didn't earn 5 stars.
