Set during the conflict in Bosnia, on Easter Sunday in the town square of Tenica, Dimiter Markovitz witnesses the slaughter of her father, mother, siblings and many of the townspeople. As she flees for her life, she snatches an infant from the ground and races from the carnage that once was their home. Filled with revenge, she hikes with the child to the monastery of St. Vladimir, home of her elder brother, where she is introduced to the Starets, the Holy head of the monastery. There she views her first glimpse of the Cup of Arimathaea. Seeking arms to affect her revenge, Dimiter is contacted by the acting Mayor of Tenica, who persuades her to locate Hugh Blackwell, an international arms dealer who is believed to be in Monaco. She leaves the child with the monks and begins her journey of intrigue and abject terror. During her quest for revenge, she becomes embroiled in the search for the stolen Spear of Longinus.

Exciting and Captivating,

This remarkable novel captivated me from the first paragraph to the last and leaves me wanting more!
Based on historical records and legends - - laced with danger, secrecy, intrique and magic - - this book races from one harrowing episode to another. I would love to see a movie of this amazing story.
