I love this movie simply because it is a good movie and has Michael Landon in it also. My personal copy of this movie I paid almost $90 dollars for and would not part with. If you like old movies and movies that are based on American folk lore then you will love this movie.

The movie does not follow the exact story line that the actual event does but does have the wonderful American folk story in it. The Kingston Trio does the song wonderful and you should really listen to them sing the song "Tom Dooley".

There are books written on the actual trial of Tom Dooley that you historians may be interested. Those books are written by John West(that blew me away when I found out we have the same last name. no relation.) and I own these books also.

As far as the Legend of Tom Dooley goes...if you don't mind spending the money on the VHS then I would say it is a good movie to own. I love my copy!

I found this VHS tape to be exactly as described and I was thrilled to receive it in such good condition.

Great movie I saw it as a kid. I would like to own it but not until it gets put on DVD. If it was on DVD it would be a better quality picture and sell more copies.
