More About the Author

Max Elliot Anderson grew up as a reluctant reader. After surveying the market, he sensed the need for action-adventures and mysteries for readers 8 and up, especially boys.

Mr. Anderson was a producer of the nationally televised PBS special, Gospel at the Symphony that was nominated for an Emmy, and won a Grammy for the double album soundtrack. He won a best cinematographer award for the film, Pilgrim's Progress, which was the first feature film in which Liam Neeson had a staring role. He has produced, directed, or shot over 500 national television commercials for True Value Hardware Stores. Mr. Anderson owns The Market Place, a client-based video production company for medical and industrial clients. His productions have taken him all over the world including India, New Guinea, Europe, Canada, and across the United States.

Using his extensive experience in the production of motion pictures, videos, and television commercials, Mr. Anderson brings the same visual excitement and heart-pounding action to his stories. Each book has completely different characters, setting, and plot.

Seven books are published, with an additional twenty-eight manuscripts completed. Young readers have reported that reading one of Mr. Anderson's books is like being in an exciting or scary movie.

4.0 out of 5 stars Max Elliot Anderson weaves this story...with deft fingers, May 19, 2005

This review is from: Legend of the White Wolf (Tweener Press Adventure Series #7) (Paperback)
Take two eleven-year-old boys, a mysterious white wolf, a dangerous band of illegal hunters, and all the excitement of the rugged outdoors, put it all together in a book written by Max Elliot Anderson and you have an adventure story even the most "reluctant" of readers will pick up and enjoy.

Brian Fisher was not much different from other young boys and, so, it was not much of a surprise that he resented the fact that no one believed his fantastic tale about a white wolf. It was also no surprise that he decided to prove the story true, even if it meant putting his own life in danger.

It all began when Brian discovered a white wolf pup caught in a trap and set it free. Since then, Brian was convinced that he and the wolf were brothers. Stung by the disbelief of his family and friends, Brian sets out to confirm the story and ends up getting a lot more than he bargained for. It is bad enough that he is caught out in a snowstorm and attacked by a mountain lion, but when a group of lawless hunters begins killing off the wolf population, the situation reaches a critical point.

Max Elliot Anderson weaves this story of adventure and trust with deft fingers, bringing the story to life in a fulfilling and meaningful way. "Legend of the White Wolf" should be included on every young boy's bookshelf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Legend, July 25, 2009

(REAL NAME)
This review is from: Legend of the White Wolf (Tweener Press Adventure Series #7) (Paperback)
Brian Fisher wants everyone to believe that he had saved a white wolf pup. His father a game warden doesn't believe him because he has never seen one. His best friend Tommy kind of believes him because they are best friends. It seems the only one who believes him is Windwalker, his Indian friend who lives in a cabin up in the mountains. A rogue mountain lion and wolf hunters are just two of the other pieces of trouble Brian finds himself facing. Follow Brian and Tommy as they try to find the white wolf. This book also addresses the subject of God and placing your trust in him. This was not a preachy book and that is why I believe it will appeal to everyone. It was simple and well written. The end was so gripping I found myself sitting on the edge of the couch. With its male protagonist it is especially geared toward boys. I don't believe that will deter girls, especially if they are animal lovers. I gave this book a rating of 5 out of 5

5.0 out of 5 stars SFC 5 star review, November 5, 2007
This review is from: Legend of the White Wolf (Tweener Press Adventure Series #7) (Paperback)
They didn't call him a liar; they just couldn't believe his story. Brian Fisher was determined to prove it was true even though it involved risk to his own safety.

Two best friends, Brian Fisher and Tommy Wilson, have many great times together hiking and visiting their Indian friend, Windwalker. Windwalker is working on a special painting and knows a lot about wolves that he shares with Brian and Tommy after hearing the story about how Brian pried open an animal trap of a captured wolf pup with an angry growling mother nearby. After freeing the wolf pup--the mother, the pup, and the boy walked away to live another day. Now Brian has made it his mission to find the white wolf again.

Will Brian find Snowball, the white wolf again? Will the wolf poachers be caught?
