Book Description

Surviving agitated ghosts, irritated witches, angry werewolves, and the horrors of high school has never been so hard.

The night of Samhain may be behind them, but Yuki and her friends have only begun to face the challenges of their paranormal gifts.  Tensions are rising--in the pack, at school, and within their tightly knit group of friends.

The tragic death of Wakefield High student Dylan Jacobs has emotions boiling over.  The J-Team, Yuki's arch nemesis, have turned the entire football team against her.  They claim that Yuki is a witch and blame her for the death of their fellow teammate.  Will Yuki be able to solve the mystery of Dylan's death, and the legend of Witchtrot Road, before tempers flare and things turn violent?

Legend of Witchtrot Road is the third novel in the Spirit Guide young adult series by E.J. Stevens.

5.0 out of 5 stars Can I say that I entirely love this book? September 27, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
So Yuki and the gang are back! Right now, I have to claim this one as the best in the series. This one stands out, I think, because of a certain change in the characters. I'm still in this happy haze after reading it a few hours earlier.

Yuki is stronger than never before and still just as funny! She stands up for herself and tries hard not to let anyone take her down. Cal isn't that much in the sidelines. He's still as sweet as sugar, despite his new found taste for thrill and adventure (that may or not be caused by his wolf spirit). There is also some increasing sparks in between Simon and Emma. We also get to learn Simon's true age.

The friendship between the characters was very heartwarming. In novels recently, I see friends betraying and doubting each other, with upsets me most of the time. It's great to see that this was one of the novels that still has true loyalty and friendship.

I expected more action for Simon and Gabriel. Gabriel just seems to be there. It doesn't look like he's all that important to the story. He throws out threats but doesn't act on them.

Lastly, Ms. Stevens had emailed me about a novella coming out which will serve as a prologue to Yuki and Cal's relationship! I also searched Goodreads and found there is going to be a book 4 & 5! I'm so excited!

5.0 out of 5 stars Every book gets better and better! September 25, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
***May contain spoilers***

I didn't think it possible to fall even more in love with this series (and the characters, oh the amazingly swoon-worthy male characters and the super snarky female characters), but after having read this book, the third installment of this series, I found that it is indeed possible.

While I liked the majority of the earlier books, I liked everything about this one. While in the earlier books the characters were somewhat melodramatic, they were stronger and more confident in this book and they showed up sides of them that we had to yet to see (Simon being more than a playboy? GASP!) and while the plot in the earlier books seemed dragged out at times, in this book it was completely entirely gripping and unputdownable. It becomes extremely evident that E.J. has really grown as an author.

All in all, if you have yet to read one of E.J.'s books, well, WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? You are seriously missing out! Not only will her books suck you in with their unique paranormal elements, but also the humor (her characters are some of the most humorous I have read in the world of YA and dare I say it, she possess comedic talents similar to that of Rachel Hawkins and Kiersten White- my two all time favourite YA funny ladies).

4.0 out of 5 stars This series is so much fun- quirky and magical September 25, 2011

These books are brilliant- such a wonderful mix of mystery and magic with really quirky and lovable characters.
The Legend Of Witchtrot Road follows Yuki and friends investigating the death of a football player, killed whilst driving down the supposedly haunted Witchtrot Road. His smell impression keeps leading them back to the school, but Yuki herself is in grave danger when the rest of the football team accuse Yuki of being a witch and of casting a fatal curse on the team. Yuki, Calvin, Simon and Emma need to find out exactly what is happening in the town (and preferably before the full moon). I love the sense of family and loyalty between these four friends, and how they always work together to help each other out. As vegan vet-in-training Emma and smarmy werewolf boy Simon are thrown together more and more often in various situations, there is a hint that their constant bickering is the beginning of the unlikely couple starting a budding relationship themselves.

Overall, I just love these characters and the style that the book is written in, with the constant interjection of Yuki's thoughts. This is such a fun story to read because Yuki has such a unique voice. These books are definitely addictive and always leave me craving more! Funny, quirky, supernatural and romantic, this is a unique read that will get you loving these characters and their situations. A mystery story, a romance, a completely different supernatural twist, all rolled into one book. I defy you not to get swept up in this fun story, which is like a refreshing breath of fresh air in this genre.

5.0 out of 5 stars I can't Get Enough!! September 22, 2011
Format:Kindle Edition
I am never disappointed by this series! I never get tired of Yuki's up beat personality no matter what she is going through she makes it through with a smile on her face. This one has been no different. In this addition to the series the J-Team jocks are terrorizing her because they believe she is a witch that some how had something to do with their team mates death. I was beyond annoyed with the closed minded jocks that seemed to think that anything that was different had to be wrong. This made me so glad I'm not in high school anymore. Cal of course comes to Yuki's rescue a number of times he is becoming quite the prince charming. We also get to know Simon a lot more in this one, someone from Simon's past shows up and puts a wrench in a lot of their plans. Also we see Emma and Simon's bickering changing into something completely different!! I have to say out of all the characters I think I'm beginning to really enjoy Simon and Emma the most. With Simon's playboy attitude and his little sweet under tones that escape every now and then and Emma's drive to save the planet and how incredible she is as a friend to Yuki. I can't get enough of them. I can't wait to find out what's next for my favorite characters!! This is an awesome series and I would suggest it for anyone that loves YA!
