Book Description

Connedim March 1, 2007
The Connedim Book Two Zachary is an apprentice in the Interhistorical Alliance, protecting history from the evil Scatterers. While waiting in Tucson for his ghostly mentor, Maria, he's given a mysterious portal made by his uncle Zamiel. Years ago, Zamiel was killed in a car accident, but now Zachary wonders if his uncle could have somehow survived. Upon his return to The Connedim -- a place connecting the past and the future -- Zachary discovers that Zamiel was well known in the Alliance before his disappearance. Unfortunately, it seems that Zamiel's loyalties now lie with the Scatterers, but Zachary can't believe his uncle is really a Scatterer. The only way to discover the truth is to find Zamiel. Zachary knows the portal his uncle made is the key, if only he could figure out how to use it.

More About the Author

I spent most of my life trying to decide what to be when I grew up. I've always been an avid reader and traveler, and I actually wrote my first book when I was nine. My family and friends teased me through middle school and high school about the endless stories I wrote, but somehow it never occurred to me that writing could be a career.

So I studied science and English in high school, German and math and psychology in college, and I traveled whenever I could. I settled into architecture in graduate school, and eventually became a registered architect. I drew building plans for years, but finally found myself writing stories again in my spare time. And so, it came full-circle.

As a writer, I can be anything I want, anywhere in the universe I want to be. I've lived in the lush tropical islands of the Caribbean, the remote Texas-Mexican Border, the Bavarian Alps, and the thriving cities of Denver and Seattle. Through all my adventures, my heart has always belonged to the Arizona Sonoran desert. I now live in Tucson with my husband and two children.

5.0 out of 5 stars Well worth reading, April 5, 2005
By
This review is from: The Legend of Zamiel Zimbalist (Connedim) (Connedim) (Paperback)
I love the way this book blends times and places. All different eras exist at the same time, and Connedim is like the hub of a wheel where you can get to any of the different times. It's a cool idea.

Zachary is a loner who wants to have friends but finds himself isolated by the need to find out about his long-lost uncle Zamiel. Everything points to Zamiel being the leader of the evil Scatterers, which would break Zachary's heart, yet he still tries hard to find out the truth.

With a great bunch of characters, including a giant tortoise, Alexander the Great, a talking cat, and children from the past and future, this story was interesting from beginning to end.

5.0 out of 5 stars A Great Read, October 2, 2005
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Legend of Zamiel Zimbalist (Connedim) (Connedim) (Paperback)
This is the second book in the series (I understand a third is in the works). I personally cannot wait for the next one!

I am now reading the classic A Wrinkle in Time by Madeleine L'Engle and Pam Keyes book is a worthy heir to that tradition.

In the Legend of Zamiel Zimbalist as in the first book, The Rune of Zachary Zimbalist, we deal with variations of perspective on time, place, family and the complexities of what we know, what we think we know, and how we can be wrong about what we think we know.

Adults and children characters alike are fallable in this exciting and riveting sequel. The writing is superb and you'll want to read it in one sitting.

Definitely read The Rune of Zachary Zimbalist first!

5.0 out of 5 stars getting better, June 9, 2005
This review is from: The Legend of Zamiel Zimbalist (Connedim) (Connedim) (Paperback)
I loved the first book in this series, and I can't believe The Legend of Zamiel Zimbalist is even better - but it is. In this book, Zachary is trying to find out if his uncle is one of the good guys or one of the bad guys. The end of the book is completely unexpected, and is really, really good. Now I can't wait for book three.
