5.0 out of 5 stars Lavish Decadence!!!, October 17, 2007
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Collector's Edition: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Prima Official Game Guides) (Hardcover)
Just like the Collector's Edition of The Twilight Princess Guide, this book is a lesson to all other player's guide manufacturers in lavishness!!! The pages are all lined with gold leaf & as soon as you open the book it just screams 'quality' at you. If you want a guide look no further than this & to add to the quality it's cheap too. Bargain!

The most noticeable thing about this guide, as you can see, is the Hylian Crest design, the gilded page edges, and the faux-leather hardback binding. These features, while nice (especially for avid Zelda collectors like me) aren't what you're wanting to buy; you want the Phantom-busting-knowledge locked within.
A full map of the world is included, as well as a matching faux-leather, stitched bookmark. The map is fully marked with islands, obstacles, treasures, and Pieces of Heart, and is plenty big enough to adorn your wall and still be in easy view. I kind of wish the map had been canvas or cloth or something, instead of poster paper, but you can't have everything, I suppose.
The guide itself delivers, with checklists and everything else you need to complete the game and all its side-quests. No guide seems as fun to read enough after the Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time guide from Nintendo Power, though, but I guess Prima seeks clarity over imagination, which serves its purpose just fine.

4.0 out of 5 stars The Legend of Zelda Phantom Hourglass Guide(C.E.), January 31, 2010
This review is from: Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Collector's Edition: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Prima Official Game Guides) (Hardcover)
Keep in mind all my reviews for the strategy guides I own will be the same unless they bring something new to the table, because they are the same just for different games. So don't be upset because I cut and paste. I only do it in this for the guieds I own and I know it applies to. Thank you.

If you get stuck on games like the average person this will help you get through the rough spots. I found it very helpful, easy to read, and well put together for the most part. My only complaint is all the secrets and bonus stuff is in the back of the book. I feel it should be in the walkthrough so you don't have to go back and forth to see if you missed something. or get an item so late that it is irrelevant anymore because you got it so late its too weak. But most Guides do this so this is not the only one with this flaw. Hope that helps you out. The hard cover gives it a touch of class. I like the way they do this for most Zelda guides now

OMG, not enough nice can be said about this book. It is superbly made. Gold edging on the pages. Hard bound. It covers several systems for Zelda also. This is truely a collectors piece.

5.0 out of 5 stars Why so overpriced?, December 31, 2011
This review is from: Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Collector's Edition: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Prima Official Game Guides) (Hardcover)
I've gotten all the other collector's hardback books (Twilight Princess, Spirit Tracks and Skyward Sword) all for around $20 bucks a book and thats an outstanding price. But now why the hell is Phantom Hourglass collector's guide going for $100? I smell scalping but I cannot stipulate without facts. I've searched all over the internet and bookstores. Game shops sell the Skyward Sword Collector's book for 39.99 (rip off). I'm sure this book is very promising and looks good no matter where it sits but $90-120?!!

My daughter seemed to love the book, she loves anything Zelda. It was for her birthday. It could have been packaged a little better, but the book itself was just what she expected. She has most of the collection now.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best Collector's Guide EVER!!, February 8, 2011
This review is from: Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Collector's Edition: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Prima Official Game Guides) (Hardcover)
So I got this as a gift because I finished school. I ordered it because I seriously LOVED the game for the DS and I LOVED captain Linebeck, Ciela and Link. And I totally don't regret having ordered this! I really LOVE how much effort they put into this book! All the artwork is inside and also it came with a super beautiful poster and a map with all the sea charts and a mini story book! <3

If you're a truly fan of the game, then GET THIS NOW! ^^ You're not losing anything! You'll love it! x3.

I ordered this on October 2, 2010 and Recieved it on October 7, 2010. It was expected for delivery from October 8-26 so it was a surprise that it came so early. I expected it to be still be sealed in the factory plastic wrapping but it wasn't, none the less it was in perfect condition and all the extras like the bookmark and maps were included. The packaging was ok it was one of those bubble wrap envelope, with the bubble wrap attached to the inside of the envelope. If it was a paper back I think it might have gotten bent but mine was hard back so it was in perfect condition. Other than that it was a good buy and I would buy again from this seller.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great quality, excellent (required) content, November 4, 2008
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass Collector's Edition: Prima Official Game Guide (Prima Official Game Guides) (Prima Official Game Guides) (Hardcover)
We bought "Phantom Hourglass" back when it was first released, and nobody could seem to get as far as the first boss. Eventually everyone in the family gave up and the cartridge sat collecting dust in the drawer. Well, recently I felt like trying it again, so I ordered this book (because I usually trash the paperback versions). Boy, am I glad I did. There are some hints for dealing with baddies that you could never intuit on your own. I've stopped playing for a while because everyone else wants to use the book and have a turn!
