5.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful, but not exhaustive, July 31, 2010

This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past Nintendo Player's Strategy Guide (Paperback)
I have mixed feelings about this guide. It's more of a hint book than a genuine walkthrough. It doesn't do a good job explaining how to get around some of the obstacles, and at times I found myself having to check online for tips or solutions. That being said, it's a beautiful book, with lots of great exclusive illustrations and background story. It also is written more like a lore book than a modern video game guide. I recommend it for Zelda fans, but more as a collectible than a real guide.

I have been looking for this players guide for a number of years now, and I finally found it! I highly recommend this players guide to anyone who has either been a reader of Nintendo Power Magazine or is a fan of The Legend of Zelda games. Even if you don't own the game itself, pick this guide up while there are some still available. Beautiful artwork describing the story of Link and his quest to save Princess Zelda and the Land of Hyrule. This is a great game and a very well put together players guide. It features a fold-out overview map of both The Light World & The Dark World. 5 stars across the board for this players guide!!!!

I used to have a copy of this book. I still have it, but unfortunately it's all but ripped to shreds. I'd love to have another copy of this book if the price was right. It contained not only everything about playing the game, but what I really prized were all the beautiful pieces of art and "backstory" elements it contained, such as a sidebar about Hylian dress and fabrics, architecture, and other Zelda universe "facts". For those elements alone, it is definitely worth having. I'd love to have another. If anyone has one for sale, please contact me at [...].
