5.0 out of 5 stars Very Nice, February 12, 2008
By
Jack Reynolds (Southwest Virginia) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Hyrule Symphony (Audio CD)
This CD features some of the favorite music from OoT performed with a more classical sound by a string ensemble, occasionally adding other intstruments such as the piano, harp, and, of course, the ocarina. The music is absolutely beautiful. It was already very good in the game, but it's even better to hear it played by live instruments. My only problem is that they don't have anything in English. The CD comes with a booklet about Ocarina of Time, but unfortunately it's all in Japanese, so I can't read it. I don't think that alone is enough to reduce the rating for it. If you enjoyed the music from the game, you should definitely look into getting this CD.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ocarina Of Time - Hyrule Symphony Soundtrack, November 2, 2009
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Hyrule Symphony (Audio CD)
"First, this is the review for: The Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time Symphony Album. I purchased this CD from eBay over a year ago, and just now remembered to write a review. I will list the tracks, and their times now: 'Title', 4:03 - 'Kokiri Forest', 2:10 - 'Hyrule Field', 3:47 - 'Hyrule Castle', 2:10 - 'Lon Lon Ranch', 3:26 - 'Kakariko Village', 3:06 - 'Death Mountain', 2:58 - 'Zora's Domain', 3:41 - 'Gerudo Valley', 4:34 - 'Ganondorf', 1:06 - 'Princess Zelda', 3:05 - 'Ocarina Medley', 3:52 - 'The Legend Of Zelda Medley', 4:48."

"All the tracks are REALLY good! The game is the most amazing game ever made, and any fan of The Legend Of Zelda should buy this soundtrack. All the tracks are beautifully composed, and a joy to listen to. This album is well worth whatever you are paying for it. The booklet inside is all in Japanese, so I can't read it, but it's still awesome! iTunes has the information for this album, so if you use iTunes you'll be able to put in all the song information. This is a great album (and I think I'll be buying the original soundtrack soon, also): I recommend it to all Zelda fans and music fans alike; the tracks have a good, classical music sound to them, and are much better than the electric sounding songs of the game."

4.0 out of 5 stars It takes your breath away, March 5, 2008
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Hyrule Symphony (Audio CD)
This cd only has 13 tracks on it. That is not a problem. The orchestrations are simply beautiful. The songs are long and sweeping. This is a great companion to the 82 track Ocarina of time Japanese Soundtrack.

I wish some of the temples were on this cd as well as the temple of time.

Over all, a good product. Check this out:The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time

5.0 out of 5 stars Amazing, February 18, 2008
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Hyrule Symphony (Audio CD)
This cd is simply amazing. Although it sounds a little different than the in-game music, it is just beautiful. My favorite track is the one where the Ocarina plays all the songs ^_^. There are only 13 tracks, so unlike the Official Soundtrack, these songs are decently long. Amazing cd.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Symphonic Interpretations of the Original Music, August 17, 2009
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Hyrule Symphony (Audio CD)
If you are a fan of the music from this epic game then you will enjoy this disc. Some of the arrangements have been played around with to be more conducive to a symphonic piece but songs still retain the charm that endears them to so many people.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good rearangement but missing some things, January 18, 2009
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, Hyrule Symphony (Audio CD)
I love The Legend of Zelda Ocarina of Time videogame and wanted to buy this specific album because I wanted to hear the music presented with real live instruments, not the cheesy midi videogame digital feel.

The orchestral rearrangements are certainly splendid. "Zelda's Lullaby" is simply beautiful. "Legend of Zelda Medley" is dramatic, "Kakariko Village" is nostaligic.

However, the album missed a few points on how the music was presented. For example, "Gerudo Valley" should have been arranged for two spanish classical guitars to give it a spanish-Mediterranean feel. The orchestral arrangement feels like the Zale diamonds songs. They combined all the ocarina songs of the game into a short single Ocarina meledy, but I though that each ocania song in the game deserved to be it's own song. For example, I wanted Saria's Song to be it's own composition. Song of Storms should be it's own composition too, rearranged on an accordion.
