Not quite what I'd expected,
By
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Soundtrack (Japan) (Audio CD)
Don't get me wrong from the title; this CD is fantastic! (It certainly beats the heck out of the U.S. version of the soundtrack, which features a mere fraction of the music that this one does.) The only problem I had with it was that I already own it! I misconstrued from the online listing that this was a totally different CD, not the original soundtrack. I mean, there's no picture, no description, and at the time I ordered it, there weren't any reviews either--so I took a chance and ended up with something I already own. Thus, I want to be sure I make it clear exactly what this is so that future shoppers will know before they buy. This is the Japanese Ocarina of Time original soundtrack. Here's my content review:* Over 50 tracks! This CD even includes the temples!!

Great!,
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Soundtrack (Japan) (Audio CD)
This one is really great, songs ranging from 5 seconds to 7 minutes (some I would more likely call sound effects). I would strongly suggest this to any Zelda fan, or Zelda music fan, or even any music fan at all! Here are some brief descriptions for you to see what some of the songs are like:Title Theme: The song at the beginning of the game, slow but very peacefull. Boss Battle: Wow, this one has you feeling the power of the boss you are facing, or has you feel like you are facing one! :) Zelda's Theme: I like this one quite a bit, also slow and peacefull. Goron City: This one is pretty good until a yelping noise joins in the song... Lost Woods: Fast and entergettic (sorry if I spelled that wrong), I never grow tired of this one. Temple of Time: I can't hear any insterments in this one, only eccoy voices. Has you feel like you are in an oversized cathedral. Windmill Hut: I call this song the Song of Storms, but you can find it in the Windmill hut. Pretty much feels like a rain storm! Nocturne of Shadow: Ok, I like this one alot, I mean a whole LOT! Gives you a creepy feeling, gotta love that! :) Last Battle: This one really fits perfectly as, the title says, the Last Battle. Feels powerful. End Credits: This is by far the longest track on the cd, running a little past 7 minutes. Great for credits, hey its great for anything! But it does seem like they stringed together some of the other song to make it... No big deal, still great. I hope this has helped you in your journey in buying this cd! I also give great thanks to Koji Kondo for making all this great music for the Zelda games. Bravo.

Phenomenal,

I've always been impressed with Koji Kondo's compositions for the Zelda and Mario series, and this is no exception -- most styles of music are represented here, and all of them have fantastic melodies. The instrumentals (all simulated, of course) are just right. Purchase this immediately if you're a fan of the video game, or just good music.

Best Soundtrack Ever,
By Yuri Cunha "Juggalo" (Brazil) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Soundtrack (Japan) (Audio CD)
Those who have beaten the Ocarina Of Time videogame surely know it's an absolutely unforgettable game. It's not only a game, but an experience... The Legend Of Zelda: Ocarina Of Time is what I call an eternal game. Why? Graphics were unbelievable, for when it was released. The characters, scenaries and story left you breathless... But something who made the game be what is... It's one thing: it's soundtrack.Ocarina Of Time's soundtrack is here, ladies and gentleman. Unlike the American version, this Japanese version has all tracks (and even some sound effects like when you get an item) who play in the game, so what you'll find in here is 82 tracks of pure quality. I know the tracks have an average time of one minute each, but, believe me... this means nothing. When you play the songs, you feel like you're playing the whole game again, it's wonderful. This soundtrack must be owned by any gamer and by any music fan out there, because it's simply the best soundtrack ever. Not only the best game soundtrack ever, but, I mean it, the best soundtrack ever made for anything. Wonderful melodies who immediately transport you (if you played the game, obviosly) to the places of where that song played... I can't describe it by words, how amazing this soundtrack is and how a must-buy it is. Do yourself a favor and do it like myself: buy this soundtrack right now here at Amazon. You'll never, ever feel bad about this.

Good, but short,
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Soundtrack (Japan) (Audio CD)
I loved that they have EVERY SINGLE music from the game in it, but I was disappointed to find how short some of the tracks are. Most all of them only play one loop of a track, making the songs very short. For example, the Fire Temple track is just over 40 seconds long... I just wish they made this like 3 CDs and extended the tracks to at least 2 minutes each. But that's the only thing I don't like... other than that its great! If you liked the OoT music, this is a must buy!

Good Soundtrack!,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Soundtrack (Japan) (Audio CD)
Great soundtrack! With 82 songs to choose from, it's worth the money. Even though some of the songs are very short, there are others that last up to 7-9 minutes. It has every song from the entire game. So if you like the legend of zelda you want this.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Soundtrack (Japan) (Audio CD)
If only more games had scores released like this. The music in Ocarina of Time isn't necessarily the best of its kind, but it's still very well done. I don't really need to review the music, do I? If you've played the game then you know exactly what you're getting there. It's the packaging of this CD that is terribly impressive. It's well-tooled and feels like a genuine novelty of Zelda products with full color pictures in the insert, Japanse and English track titles, a GOLD CD (ahhh, reminscent of the NES Legend of Zelda gold cartridge) with a simple elegant white print on top, a map of Hyrule in the case behind the CD, and some sort of sticker that I can't bring myself to place somewhere (and let it get ruined? no way!). Lastly, the audible contents are extremely complete with not only in-game music, but the "item sounds" and such. The things you hear when you get an item, defeat a boss, etc.Bottom line, this CD is a great item for game/score fans and any sort of collector. It gives you a simple feeling of pleasure at just having possessed such a thing ... like when buying a video game actually meant something more than a few hours of fun. Okay, so maybe part of the fun with this is nostalgia, because it reminds me of the old Zelda's as much as the new!

Great CD, with one major flaw...,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Soundtrack (Japan) (Audio CD)
Legend Of Zelda Ocarina Of Time Soundtrack is one of the best game music scores for the n64.It's So much better than the american version because, well, think about it...American Version:Number Of Tracks:35 Japaneese Version:Number Of Tracks:82 This CD has all the music from oot, the American Version doesn't have 1/2!All the songs are great! But, as stated in the title, there is one terrible flaw. -takes breath- It's Fire Temple. The people who made the CD cut off the end of it (the chanting)! All in all this is one great CD (if you loved the music from the game) and you should BUY IT IMMEDIATLY!Don't Wait, because video game soundtracks don't usually stay in-print for very long, and I doubt this one still is.Don't wait untill this is $150, BUY IT NOW! Bye!

The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time,
A Kid's Review
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Soundtrack (Japan) (Audio CD)
This CD is very cool (to start out with). It has every song from the game that you could imagine. It even has the fanfare you get when you open a treasure chest. If you are a Zelda fan you'll love this CD. I've listened to 4 times through ( it's 78 min. long) and I've only had for 2 days. As you can see that statement alone speaks for it self!!!

Ocarina of Time,
By Christina (Candyland) - See all my reviews
This review is from: The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time Original Soundtrack (Japan) (Audio CD)
This is a great cd! It includes all the wonderful music from the 1999 award winning n64 game, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. There are 82 tracks to this cd, some that last a few seconds long... some that last a few minutes long. My favorite is the "End Credits." This is the song played after beating the game and is truly beautiful!! I love it!! |
