Amazon.com Review
The Zelda games from Nintendo comprise one of the best and most popular series of video games ever produced--and with good reason. Each title is more impressive than the last, with a larger game world, a richer story, and even more challenging puzzles. The latest entry, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time, is by far the biggest and best of the bunch--but it's also the toughest, which is why you'll need a hand from BradyGames' excellent strategy guide. With a slick layout and tons of useful information, BradyGames' guide to Zelda is basically your one-stop shop for the prospective adventurer. Starting out with a quick description of the major characters, the book goes on to provide in-depth info on the gameplay basics, such as how to use the controls effectively and how to make the best use of Link's Ocarina. Additionally, the book describes each of the objects and weapons you'll come across in the game. The rest of this guide walks you through every quest, with screen shots and maps to help you get Link through in one piece. Over the course of your journey, you can also turn to the guide to find all of the game's secrets and to pick up helpful hints for each of the mini-games. --Michael Ryan

5.0 out of 5 stars It is the best guide ever created for Ocarina of Time., March 11, 1999
By A Customer
This guide is so cool! Before I had gotten it, I had read the reviews of other guides and they sucked! Then my friends told me that in order to get the Deku Shield I had to chop Saira's Head off. But I couldn't even find the sword. When I got this guide, I proved my friends wrong! Of course, at one point I lost it and it was right after I became an adult. My friends said that in order to get the Fairy Bow I had to go to the Water Temple, which involved Epona. But I couldn't get her because I had to shoot Ingo in the head with an arrow. When I found the guide again, they were once more proved wrong. Some friends. This guide has very detailed maps, it's very descriptive, and even tells where almost all of the secret grottos are. It also says where all 100 Gold Skulltulas are and where all of the 36 Heart Pieces can be found. Thanks to this guide, I beat the game in two weeks. It gives you a very detailed walkthroughs on all of the dungeons, and tells you how to get every last thing, including Epona and the Cow from Malon. The person who wrote this guide should recieve an award for her great talent in writing player's guides! My thanx to her.

4.0 out of 5 stars Awesome, September 12, 2001
By Margaret J. Griffin "benleeg2" (Simpsonville, Kentucky United States) - See all my reviews
Although I had long since beaten the game using an online strategy guide, I had still found this guide fairly helpful. Even though it doesn't tell you exactly how or where to get all 100 Gold Skulltulas (it was also wrong in the Water Temple) it is still very detailed and tells you almost everything. One thing I didn't like is that it barely mentions, let alone tells how to get the Ice Arrows in the Gerudo Training Grounds. Overall, it was a fun book to read and use. Using it, I have perfected my gaming abilities. I can now beat the game without dying at all or even use a single fairy to replinish life. I can also beat the entire game and find every last piece of everything in 3 days or less. That is without playing it continuously. I have also found every secret in the game including Great Fairy Fountains, Fairy Fountains, all 100 Gold Skulltulas, all 36 Heart Container Pieces, and so much more. As the game progresses, the book gets more detailed, which is good. I would reccomend this book to any regular or hardcore Zelda fan. ...
