4.0 out of 5 stars Funtionality
This is an excellent sword. It isn't worth anymore than 40 dollars but, it is still good none the less. The blade is excellent. I have one and it passed the flex test. It is light and easy to swing. There is one major flaw that keeps it from being kicked into the realm of functionality. The handle. It is VERY weak. It has a rat tail tang with all of the weight placed on a...

2.0 out of 5 stars Looks Good...Less filling
The visual display is nice. However, the blade is so thin it cannot support it's own weight. There is an obvious bow if you hold it out horizontally. Good for wall display, but would not recommend for costume use. If you were to actually "use" this sword (such as for a movie prop) I suspect it might break or at least permanently bend. Look for a high quality thicker...

It has a rat tail tang with all of the weight placed on a somewhat crude weld. If you have some skill in welding and heat treating, you can make this a very awesome sword. It would just be a matter of widening that rat-tail tang (the metal from the blade that extends into the handle) If functionality isn't an issue, then, I would recommend it. Since I love functionality, I only give it 4 stars.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great Sword! Great Shipping!, June 2, 2007
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Legend of Zelda Replica Sword (Misc.)
I am a die-hard zelda fan and from playing all the zelda games, this is a great sword for any zelda fan. The blade is not razor sharp but can easily cut thru a watermelon, which in my case is good because I have no intention of slaying someone ( it is a bit heavy may I add) . My only complaint is when I got it (on time) the sword was slightly curved. This was due to the sheathe which is leather and flexible and probably got knocked around during shiping. But, I fixed it the second day I had it and it was as good as new. In any case, this sword is a must for cosplay, movie prop, adding to a collection, cutting a watermelon (laughs), or just feeling like Link with this awesome sword. By the way I am 13 years old.

4.0 out of 5 stars Very nice sword for the pricetag., December 21, 2006

I bought this sword for a friend of mine who is a Nintendo groupie and loves all things in relation to it and the classic games. The Master Sword was a nice gift and was a very nice buy for the amount I paid for it. As with other reviews you know that the sword is not sharp, and is fairly light for it's size, and it primarily intended for cosplay and display only.

The only inconsistencies with the photos provided are that the Triforce emblem on the sword guard is not a golden chevron like in the Amazon photo, but a solid, golden triangle.

Two things, there is no display base offered by True Swords with the sword, and the scabbard that comes with the sword is rather flimsy and black, not blue or tan.

I let him open it among a group of my friends who basically were struck dumb by someone pulling the master sword out as a Christmas present. When someone asked aloud, "Where did you find one of those?"

I just smiled and replied, "Hyrule."

(Now if I could just get them to make Green, Red, and Purple hilted versions for myself and two of my other friends.)

4.0 out of 5 stars definatley worth it, May 4, 2006
A Kid's Review
This review is from: Legend of Zelda Replica Sword (Misc.)
here's why you should by this sword-

1. price is outstanding

2. it really is good for COSPLAY (which of course, everyone loves)

3. realistic sword, looks like links, strong blade

4. it felt sort of light, but it really isn't (a good sword for cosplay should weigh about 2-6 lb.) this sword weighs 3.5 lb ( I used a scale.)

5. triforce on both sides (YAY!!!)

My only problem is that the sheath was sort of crappy. I dont think it was smart to make it out of leather, because if the sword was sharper ( doesnt come all to sharp) it would definatley cut right through it. Really, this isn t a problem. What i did was kinda stupid but i wrapped blue masking tape over the black leather to make it a blue sheath (just for kicks).

All in all, this sword is pretty awesome for what you get. remember, its only $49.00 (or $40.00, I cant remember). either way, this sword is an awesome deal. Buy it and go rescue ZELDA.

5.0 out of 5 stars Exclellent, January 7, 2007
This review is from: Legend of Zelda Replica Sword (Misc.)
I recived this Sword for Christmas and (being a Zelda junkie) fell in love with it. The blade was a little dirty after shipping, and the Sheath is a bit flimsy, but I am not writing a review for USPS or the Sheath am I ;-). The Hilt is made out a very durable material (porcelien it feels like.) THe blade (although dulled down) is still sharp enough to cut through a watermelon with. Cleaning it up is a diiffernt story! As I see many others have wrote, the sword is excellent for cosplay. You cannot bring it to a convention *Cough*AnimeBoston*Cough* but nevertheless, it is a great deal. If you are looking for an excellent collectable for a great price, go for this sword. However, I would not reccomend this for someone who islooking to spar.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good for the price, January 10, 2008
This review is from: Legend of Zelda Replica Sword (Misc.)
For a replica that I paid less than $40 for, it's great. I mean, if you're looking for a top-of-the-line replica, this isn't the sword you want to buy, but if you just want something to display on your wall (which is what I'm doing), this is a great buy. It actually came only 4 days after I ordered it, which I thought was fantastic. It came with a rather flimsy black leather sheath, but hey, I can't complain when I paid the amount I did.
The blade does bend a tiny, almost unnoticeable bit when you hold it out horizontally and flat, so this isn't something you want to swing around or anything. It's also pretty easy to mark with fingerprints and things, so you may want to buy something you can polish it with.
Overall, it's good for the price!

3.0 out of 5 stars Not the best replica, but..., October 7, 2011
This review is from: Legend of Zelda Replica Sword (Misc.)
There are definitely better replica Master Swords than this one, but it's still a fairly decent one. There are plenty of design details that separate it from the true look of the weapon, but it's recognizable. The tang keeps it from being a functional weapon, but for something like this you probably wouldn't want to mess it up by using it anyway. Still, it makes up for that with a reasonable price. If you want a Master Sword for photo shoots or display but have a limited budget, go with this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars Great gift for Zelda fans!, January 26, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Legend of Zelda Replica Sword (Misc.)
I've ordered this sword twice, once for my brother and now for my fiance's Valentines. It took about a week to ship and I was happy with the packaging, they really ship it in great protection.

I have to say that each time I'm so impressed by the size of it, it can easily fit three hands on the handle. The shape of the blade is very interesting, though it does wobble alot and isn't all that sharp (though good enough to stab boxes with.. lol), but the novelty of it makes up for all that. It's also the biggest, cheapest sword you can find. My second order came with a black leather sheath, which was a really good bonus I am happy with.

Aside from the wobbly-ness, the picture isn't EXACTLY like the product they give you (just a few paint details, and there's a giant PAKISTAN stamped on the blade, which can kind of kill the fantasy), my sword also was kind of dirty- like grease on the blade? This was only in my second order.
